As the two girls fall in step together, Cassia's other arm-that wasn't linked with Lex's- swung back and forth. She liked doing that. "Lucky you!" She said with a sigh. "Yeah dads say that but like you can just ignore it and enjoy the fact that you were given money." She said. "That makes up for the unreasonable request." The not spend it all one, that is.
Oh her dad. So he did really come. The fourth-year perked up a bit, "I think he had left because he was on a tight schedule or something." But not tight enough to not come and donate. "They had food there? At the fundraiser?" How come she missed it? "Did you have to pay for it?" Sounded like you had to pay for everything. Like Cassia wouldn't be surprised if they had to pay to donate. Did that even make sense? Probably not. "Oh but how do we know the money is going to revive the school budget?" Maybe someone the headmistress was shoving the money down their pockets. "Or maybe we should wait and see if things become better after the donations." She didn't really think so.
Reasoning, her least favorite word. "There is no reasoning. I suck at it, Lex. I always end up seeing the wrong words at the wrong time." You'd think Lex had noticed that by now. Siiiiiiiigh at her lame reasoning skills.
"Umm...He didn't mention anything." Mike didn't. But that got her to think, did he really not want anything. Or was he waiting till the right time to ask for something. "I guess I should've asked more or offered something myself. Better than giving him the chance to choose the favor." He brother was sweet and all but Durmstrang had had its effects on him. Just lie Hogwarts had it effects on her, too. "I suppose I'm in debt now." She muttered with a scowl.
Hehe, Cassia spoke her language. The girl always had.
"I know and I never take him seriously when he says things like that." Though maybe she should have considering that he got super angry and disappointed when she spent it all in one go. Yeah...Lex didn't very well like her father getting all upset but at the same time
candy.
"Did your father leave you with an unreasonable request too?" If he did then they could match!! Hehehehe!
Tight schedule? Pffft. Her father could never have tried spoon feeding her that garbage. Lex expected him to give her his time freely.
"I told Daddy to clear his schedule completely--oh?" Lex took a moment to eye her bestie curiously.
"You didn't know about the fundraiser?? Everything's completely free. You should see all the food!! Aidan and I are planning to take some back with us." That way they'd have good food later on. It was all real legit. Alexa shrugged at the next thing said.
"Things better improve because Daddy's giving money and I can't live like this much longer. Have you tried the ice-cream in the kitchen? It makes everything better." And there was an extra wide smile on now.
"We're gonna have to work on that." Lex informed her. If she could reason her way out of things then there was no reason why her friend shouldn't have been able to.
"Maybe this summer?" That could work, yeah?
GASP!
"He didn't?? Obviously he's waiting for the right moment!" Just. GASP.
"You have to ask him. Ask him before he gets the chance to make demands. Everything goes downhill after that." It's true. She would know.
