Emily heard talks of a fundraiser for Hogwarts, what with their financial difficulties and all... and opted to make an appearance at the festivities. She wasn't here to dance or talk to professors. In fact, she figured most of them would have retired or moved on by now, such a shame.
Giving a lady, no doubt the Headmistress or Head Governor person, a small smile and nod, she dropped a few shiny gold galleons into the gold box thing... done.
