The young Claw looked tentatively up at the upperclass before saying “Cover your ears.” So confident she was it would work innit? Aquila set her hand on the doorknob and pushed it open—

WHOOOOOOOOOONG!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOONNGGG!!!

Aquila quickly pull the door shut, her face stretched in shock, ears ringing painfully from the noise “IT WORKS.” She said, not realizing then that she was talking a whole lot louder than she used to.

When her ears has stopped ringing she took out her wand and stepped beside where Kendall stood. She waited for the older Claw to ready the door, biting her upperlip in sheer concentration of what she had to do. When the door was ready Aquila stepped forward and traced the door’s outline with her wand, just as Kendall did “Intrudus Concutio” she uttered, as close to how she heard Kendall say it. She stepped back and looked at the upperclassman. “See if I got it to work?” she murmured shrugging timidly.

At least Aquila didn’t seem too worried about testing the charm. Kendall still wasn’t entirely sure if she wanted it to work or if she wanted to fail at casting a charm spectacularly. If it meant she got to keep her hearing, she was okay at failing. Unfortunately, it appeared she hadn’t, as Aquila had opened the door to an ear-piercing siren-like noise. It was as if she was stuck on the docks when the fog was rolling in, unable to get away from the sound, but she instinctively had clapped her hands over her ears. Somehow managing to keep hold of her wand, and even though that had dulled the sound somewhat, she still heard the louder-than-normal question from the little blonde. “FINITE INCANTATEM,” she finally cast, lowering her hands long enough to point her wand at the offending noisy door and blinking a few times as the siren ceased. First she needed to get her hearing back to normal, and then she could try speaking.

“I can see that,” she finally said, shaking her head slightly just to make sure that the ringing had stopped. “Maybe the professor should have provided earmuffs,” she continued, joking a little. It would have kept them from dealing with all the ringing and yelling that resulted from successfully casting the spell, at least. She thought they would have, anyway, but obviously they weren’t about to get the chance to test it unless she found something to transfigure into some earmuffs. Therefore, they’d just have to suffer, as there was still at least one more attempt to get to before hopefully they’d be safe from more eardrum damage. It hadn’t appeared that her partner was too worried about any of it, and she let herself sigh slightly as her fellow Claw had stepped up to cast the charm. It seemed like the pronunciation practice had worked, and she stepped forward again at the murmured question, giving her a nod. Here goes…, she thought, reaching out and grasping the knob before cracking the door open only the tiniest sliver. Maybe that wouldn’t trigger…

”WEEEEEEEEEOO WWWEEEEEEOOO WEEEEEEEEEOO…”

Nope. Worked like it was supposed to, and there went her hands over her ears again.
