She held her nose up in a haughty manner and continued her work with the plants. Hold on, had the girl just said something about stealing gems?! The redhead's eyebrows went up and she withdrew her hand from the tank to turn around and slowly stare at the girl.

"Did you just say you stole some of the house gems?" She ignored her dripping glove and stared at the other girl that was there, the one suspiciously interested in water lilies. "Did you have anything do with that?!" ACCOMPLICE!!!

"I didn't." She corrected, giving the woman a wide-eyed look. "I said if I did, you'd be the last to know." And really with the looks she was giving her, was it any wonder why???? "Stealing any would have been dangerous Headmistress; that goblin had a sword!!!" A really neat looking one that didn't stop her from getting everything but the emeralds but shhhhh. "So you see, taking them would have been risky work." Nodnodnod "--Oh and wrong!!' Because morals were supposedly important, yeah? "Taking them would also be wrong." Solemn nod.

"Well it sounds like I AM the last to know here," she muttered as she started sprinkling food over the top of the tanks. It was interesting how Alexa remembered the moral consequences of stealing, though... dare she dream that the girl was growing up a little?

"Did you see her take anything?" she turned to brusquely ask the timid Ravenclaw. Hah, oh, no she had been busy crying over the el--- GOBLIN, it was NOT an elf. Merlin, these children needed to read some books! Books by Newt Scamander! Geez.

Annie sighed at her question and set down the fish food slowly. "I didn't let them take Hogwarts' things," she replied softly, and with a sad shake of her head. "I'm still looking into it, but rest assured that they will NOT get away with this kind of thievery. Even if we do accidentally owe them something."

Re-possessing items in the middle of the night without the proper paperwork was a bit low, too, even for goblins.

Oh merlin. Her eyes widened as she rushed by the woman and yanked the kneazle off the tank. "What have I told you about doing these things when there are witnesses?" Somehow that came out wrong. MOVING ON. Yes. To Aquila crying. That had been a wonderful distraction, right up there with Peyton clinging to the hourglasses. Wonderful people they all were and to think she thought Aquila would accidentally mention something she shouldn't have. Pssssh, she'd have to get her a cookie when they got back to the castle.

Eyes on the Headmistress because the girl had asked an important question. Why? "So if you didn't let them, then does that mean they stole?" And people wanted her feeling bad about taking the gems because?? Technically she saved them if that was the case. "They won't come back for the ice-cream machine, will they???" Not the ice-cream!

Oh! Oh! Headmistress said she can go see her Gingersnapple. Aquila gave a soft gleeful clap, absolutely beaming at the possibility of seeing her—oh no him. A male cat by the name of Gingersnapple, imagine that “We will be gentle with him” she beamed, hugging Lex’s shoulders as if she were the cat “We’ll make sure his eyes stays in his sockets.” They’ll tape them in there if they have to.

Oh hey there goes Lex... grabbing that cat? Aquila tilted her head to the side “Dont be mean to the kitty....” she murmured to Lex, hovering her hand on his back thinking of petting him. Was he upset at being yelled at? She would be, she just wanted to make him feel alllll better.

Soulful brown eyes grew large at the Headmistress’ words, then turned her head when Lex spoke. “So you weren’t willing to let them take things....” and Lex had a point when she said they were stolen. Right in front of them no less. But WAIT—the Headmistress said they owed them things...accidentally. More confused head tilting “But if we owed them... then them taking our things was..... payment? As something they can hold onto until we give back whatever we owe them?” She was starting to wibble “But they took nearly everything. What could we possibly have owed them for them to take all that?”
