She licked the ice cream off her spoon and tilted her head up at the brilliant sky. First thing to do was locate the Ursa Minor in order for her to find Polaris. Actually, there were other ways but it was the easiest one and, by far, the most effective.
Beezus returned the spoon on the bowl and settled it down carefully beside her as she took up her journal and hugged it close to her. Up to the sky her dark brown eyes went...searching......"Ursa Minor......Little Dipper......" There it was! Right there! Beezus used her index finger to trace the constellation, directing herself to the star that would lead her to where Polaris was. And not long after, with her eyes squinted for good measure, the tip of the brunette's finger was pointing at a bright star in the sky.
"Good evening, Polaris.." She whispered.
Then she turned to her wristwatch, noted the time and sketched down the north star on her journal. That was the fixed point, the indicator. Mhmmm. She helped herself again to some ice cream before looking up again....
