And okay, okay, he wouldn't look so 'surprised', though he wasn't sure that was even the right word for it. More like....... Nah, he was totally surprised. Aidan grabbed the book from her to read the cover. "This isn't even a proper book," he said, "Looks good, though." But did it have adventure and a plot? Didn't look like it. However, hexes were a pretty brilliant subject to read about.
More chuckling. "I'm here," he wore a smug grin on his face. It was good to know she was excited he came. Like she'd been wanting him to come. He was wanted. And he was also kind of fond of the thought that she seemed to expect him to come. Like, yeah, Aidan Stone was smart and read books and went to meetings about them, yeah.
He gave her back her book and took a spoonful of the ice cream.
What was she doing at a book club? Good question. What
was she doing there? Oh yeah!
"Looking for you!" GRIN.
"You and Lottie! I remembered you both like reading and figured this would be the best place to go looking for you." Though now that she thought about it...Lottie might have been off enjoying the outside. That was her preference afterall.
Would it just be Aidan then? That was fine! She liked his company.
"Besides, haven't you noticed that at every club meeting they've been holding has had food??" She would know, she'd been to them all and there was always something coated in sugar--oh and the fizzy drinks that one time. No way this meeting was gonna miss her.
"But I suppose you came for the actual reading?" He wouldn't have come here looking for
her afterall, because, well, this was a
book club.
And now he got an eyebrow raise. Not a proper book? It had everything she'd ever need. Hexes beyond her wildest dreams, a good amount were beyond her current skill level but that was only pushing her to be better.
"It is good. We should go through some of them, okay? Maybe even have a duel after?" THAT WOULD BE SO EPIC!!
Oh and she was GRINNING more at his stating that he
was there.
The grinning only died a little when she heard her name being spoken again. Looking over she spotted Sarah, yet another person finding her being there
odd. Maybe she'd just never come back to book club, that would fix things.
"I came here because I knew I'd find people here and walking around the castle by myself isn't nearly as fun." That was it really. It had nothing to do with the books.
