Aidan grabbed the book from her to read the cover. "This isn't even a proper book," he said, "Looks good, though." But did it have adventure and a plot? Didn't look like it. However, hexes were a pretty brilliant subject to read about.

More chuckling. "I'm here," he wore a smug grin on his face. It was good to know she was excited he came. Like she'd been wanting him to come. He was wanted. And he was also kind of fond of the thought that she seemed to expect him to come. Like, yeah, Aidan Stone was smart and read books and went to meetings about them, yeah.

He gave her back her book and took a spoonful of the ice cream.
