Next up was his blood...and Dylan was probably crazy for feeling proud for thinking of the ingredient. Blood...as an aside, was mostly used for darker potions and things of the like...but he was hoping to change that, yea?
Untwisting the top of it's vial, he lowered it down to the surface of the potion and poured it in without preamble. Blood was blood...Nothing too volatile about it. So, the Captain was confident in doing this...
After the last drop spilled out, he put the vial away and prepared for more stirring. Lots of stirring in this particular potion...Also, the concoction had turned dark blue as had been expected. All was going according to plan thus far.
Grasping at the wooden spoon, he went about counterclockwise stirring...
Once....twice......thrice.......Four times, five times, six times....seven....eight....nine...ten....eleven... .twelve....thirteen....fourteen....fifteen....sixt een....seventeen....eighteen....nineteen.....
TWENTY.
Bam. Finished with THAT.
Conferring with the notes (just to be sure) Dylan turned the burner off...and sat back, deciding to use this time to flip through previous potions they'd went over in lessons. In fact...the Slytherin figured this might take a minute...So, impromptu NEWT studying happening right now...
SPOILER!!: Dylan's Potions notebook!

Slytherin Seventh Year Potions Homework #1: Respectfully Untitled IngredientsWater - 1/2 cup of dittany (finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup of graphorn horn (crushed into a fine powder)
6 ounces of blood - 2 ounces of mercury
Steps and ProcedureClean cauldron and all utensils (Scourgify!) - Fill cauldron with water (Aguamenti!) Allow water to come to a boil.
- Make sure gloves and goggles are in place!
- Use tempered steel knife to chop the dittany plant. Use all parts (blossom, leaves, and stem).
- Add the dittany in with the boiling water. Let stew for ten minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Using mortar and pestle, crush up parts of the graphorn horn into a fine powder (broken down into smaller (crush-able) pieces outside of the lab).
- Add slowly to cauldron in teaspoon measurements, stirring twice (clockwise) after each.
- Let stew for ten more minutes, stirring occasionally (any direction).
- Add whole vial of blood...(potion should turn dark blue).
Stir twenty (20) times (counterclockwise). - Turn burner off and let mixture cool completely. (Must cool naturally and not by magical means!)
______Next steps to be performed with caution! - Once potion is completely cooled, removed the stopper to the mercury and use the crystal dropper to measure out two (2) ounces. Immediately replace the top once finished.
- When adding this ingredient, touch the dropper tip to the potion surface, expelling it into the liquid. (clean the dropper immediately)
- Stir five times (clockwise) with a CRYSTAL stirring rod.
- Let stand for two (2) minutes. Potion should slowly turn dark red.
- After the two minutes, immediately place samples into vials and clear the mess away.
