Amelia was sitting there with a confused look on her face as she listened to Professor Vinteren ask them about history of magic. She was going to have to pay close attention right? Very close attention.
So she took out a piece of parchment and folded it up before scribbling her name as neatly as possible. THERE, she hoped that was good right? She did want to do well with this class - and hopefully he was a little less intimidating than Professor Scabior. Who was devastatingly scary at times.

Raising her hand she spoke. "Professor Vinteren we learn about the History of Magic so that we can know what has happened before us and what has brought us to this point with these customs. Learning our history is a way to learn from our misgivings as well as our good choices and well, luck." She fiddled with her quill in her hand as she sat there.
