He could use his wand but his magical staff was replacing it today and he didn't want to cut off the whole limb. What to do in case there was a unicorn in your class, what to do... hmm... "Okay. Umm. Don't worry everyone! This is completely normal." He put on a big smile and made eye contact with the Hufflepuffs before gesturing for them to go on. "You're almost at the end. Go on, go on."
As for the beautiful creature. Ab took a slow step closer to it. Then another one. Did he look slightly upset or.. irritated to everyone else or was it just the old man's perspective? "There there, nothing to worry about." He should send for Ali. Or professor Barlow since she was a woman.
The unicorn was cautiously watching the smaller humans as they did whatever they were doing. Then he heard crunching noises behind him and he suddenly saw an old male human show up and bump into one of the smaller ones. The unicorn was spooked by this sudden run in and flicked his silver tail back and forth, his golden hooves pawing at the ground.
But then the older man was approaching him calmly, so... maybe it was okay? The unicorn huffed some air out of its nose and sniffed the man's aura. He was still spooked, though, ears folded back and all.
