Ethan walked nervously into the room, already knowing what to expect. What he didn't expect was the condition of the room. It was very dirty and dusty. The room looked like any other class room except for one exception, there was a trunk in the middle of the floor. His interest piqued, he stepped closer.

As he approached it, the trunk started to rattle. Rattling harder the closer he got to it, it suddenly burst open with the mass of a pickup truck sized, hairy, filthy, black spider. His face petrified in the frame of someone who had a nasty surprise, Ethan started to back up towards the door. But then he heard in his mind what he thought people would say to him if he ran flying out of the classroom, and hardened his resolve. If there was something greater in him than his fear of spiders, it was his determination not to be cowardly. He took a tentative step forward, raised his wand arm and almost screamed at the spider, "Riddikulus!" He dared open his eyes. The giant spider had turned into a owl that kept loosing control and plummeting into the ground. He blew out the breath he hadn't noticed that he was holding and starting nervously laughing. With that, the boggart was gone. He felt a lot better now, but he was starting to get hungry. He left the room and headed for the Great Hall.
