She smiled and nodded. "That's good. I bet it's loads better now that he's here, huh?" Anya was extremely proud of Penne for having kept her relationship going despite distance. Anya had issues just dealing with summer distance. She had no idea how she'd handle the fact that Jake would be graduated in two terms.
In fact, she had to quickly shake the thought from her head before she started freaking out.
She grinned even wider and nodded. "Yeah. Things with Jake are incredible." she said playing with her ring a little. It was a habit. Anytime someone mentioned Jake, she just had a compulsion to smile and play with the ring he gave her over the summer. Penelope beamed at that. "Yeah. Much better." Long distance was hard. Not impossible because obviously they'd made it work, but it was still hard and not always particularly enjoyable. She didn't like not being able to see him every day when she wanted. But they didn't have to worry about that anymore, and it was really awesome. She loved being able to hang out with him basically any time she wanted to now.
And she also loved hearing that her best friend was still doing great with her boyfriend too. "Good," she replied, smiling even more. "You two deserve to be happy." After all the drama and craziness there had been for awhile, it was nice that all that had calmed down and things were good now.
