He caught up the three cockroaches from their container and made sad faces at them before dropping all three, still living, into the cauldron as well. The potion went from milky white to an opaque gray. It looked a bit like wet cement, which was NOT appetizing at all. "After you put in the hairs, we'll see how it looks. We should let it simmer for a little bit, y'think? And then we can decant it and see if we don't die when we take it." Merlin, it was dangerous sounding.
Lex began counting the moment the amount was demanded of her.
"I'm seeing 12 so that 6 could work just fine." She reached over and separated six from the once tangled cluster then dropped them in, one behind the other.
Lafay getting the rest didn't sound like such a bad idea. Merlin knew the woman needed it more than they did. What would they have done with the excess? Exactly.
Now for the stirring bit. Six then six. No problem, except...this stuff was
thick. Ugggh, it was taking a lot for this to get down.
"Sweet Circe, I don't know how we'll swallow this stuff. It's rather thick." It wasn't so thick that it could barely be stirred but at the same time, jeeeeez, if she didn't know any better she'd think they threw...ugh, she didn't even know!! This had better had been easy to go pass the throat! The colours weren't helping either.
"And now we leave it to simmer...right?" Then...the tasting...
