Jory showed her that the potion was red again and she smiled. Shortly after, he turned on the burner. Annabeth knew it was time to stir nonstop the potion clockwise for a minute. It was so hot and the lilac steam that was rising up into her nostrills had a slight scent of lavender. It was good.
She checked her watch, it was almost time to turn off the fire. This time she didn't wait for Jory to do it: she grabbed her wand, pointed to the burner and said:
"Finite!" The fire was extinguished and she smiled, thinking:
it works!
The Hufflepuff girl, feeling confident about what she should do, added 13 drops of Flobberworm mucus into the cauldron, then began stirring again, anticlockwise:
"seven, six, five, four" she could feel her own heart beating faster while she noticed that the potion was about to get ready, and she was rising her voice when she finish counting the stirring
"three, two, one!"
Quickly she withdrew the wooden spoon from the cauldron, putting it on the work station and said loudly, jumping up and down with excitement:
"It's done, Jory!!! It's done!" Then, without planning, she twined her arms around his waist and hold him tightly. When she noticed what she was doing, she became a bit embarrassed and relaxed her arms, lowering her eyes and saying:
"Sorry for that, Jory. I just got carried away... It's my first potion..." Then she managed changing the subject:
"Now I know exactly what Professor Lafay was intending when she didn't give me any tip about what to do... She wanted to me to find out that I was able to do things that I thought I was not." She grinned.
"So, now, what we have to do?"
