OMG Ethan was getting tired of cleaning and just plain bored. He knew the lesson was winding down, but it wasn't over yet and he figured he'd better think of some way to make things interesting until it was. Feeling a sneeze come on as some dust crept up and tickled his nose, he remembered the face full of dirt he had gotten at the beginning of the class.. and was most likely still there. He pointed his wand to his face and muttered, "Tergeo." Hopefully the dirt was suctioned off his face now..
Oh right.. wasn't that one of the extra spells he was supposed to be doing as well? He glanced around the room a bit for something to suction up. Most of the dirt and dust were easily cleaned up by Scourgify.. Then he saw an ink spill on a desk nearby. Was it a fresh enough spill for the spell to work? "Tergeo!" the boy commanded as he pointed his wand at the spill. Most of it came off the desk, but there was still some remaining.. perhaps it had sat there too long and got all dried up and caked on. The rest would easily be cleaned up by Scourgify.. The boy started to point his wand then had a thought. Maybe he could make this more interesting. This was an easy charm that he had mastered, right? Perhaps this would be a good one to practice non-verbal magic with.. especially since he had to do it right now.
He pointed his wand and concentrated on the charm without verbalizing it. Staring at the spot, he did not see any change. He kept at it, still pointing his wand and continuing to concentrate on the spell when he finally saw it slowly begin to fade. And then the magic seemed to stop as only a very faint mark remained but wouldn't completely disappear. "Scourgify," he finally muttered and it erased completely. He'd have to keep practicing.
