He was so not late in starting the activity. No.
It was weird because he had taken a moment to just look around the classroom, sort of wide eyed. Everyone was so... busy. And they were bustling around getting things done. And what was he doing? Sitting around half-amazed and half-... he didn't really know.
But he had to start cleaning, yeah? And not start acting like dripping ice cream on a hot summer's day. (ICE CREAM! GRIN.) ... And... they needed to work on the windows and such with that Vee-truh-MOH-nee-uh spell, yeah? Nodding to himself, Alec finally got up from his seat and headed over towards a window that wasn't currently being cleaned by anyone else. And it was dirty too! Awesome. Window... you'll be clean after this. Nodnod.
Reaching the window, he pulled out his wand and took a moment to look at the window first. Properly. Yeah, the window was the first place he needed to start. Then he'd make a start on the actual window sill itself. "Vee-truh-MOH-nee-uh... vee-truh-MOH-nee-uh..." he mumbled to himself before saying a little louder and with a tiny hint of confidence, "Vitrumonia!" His wand moved to draw a small line over a tiny glass section of the window and...
... GRIN. ... Now he just had to rest of the window to clean.
