"This is stretching it a bit professor, but wouldn't people basically use their daughters hand in marriage for currency in some ways as well?" he asked. He was sure to get some odd looks for that one so he explained it more. "I mean, kings and stuff would usually use their daughters to secure treaties with other kingdoms by marrying them off, and often times other nobles would marry off their daughters for land or other goods," he explained. "They must have been SUPER desperate," he added. That was just cruel. He couldn't imagine his mum shipping him off to marry someone for an ox or something.
