So everyone decided they would go an interact with the Hippogriff? Well, fine with him, as long as they didn't get themselves killed. That would be bad.

Derek just stood there and watched as people went, one by one, to... do stuff with the hippogriff. But no, he himself wasn't going to do anything besides watching. Honestly, what was so interesting about petting a creature? Or riding it or whatever? Derek was just fine where he was, where no one would look at him and... well, watch him. If he had chosen to go to the animal, all the others would watch him like he was watching them.

And the 26 year-old most certainly did not want that.
