Ethan inwardly sighed as the professor lectured some of them about their attitude. It was true that he did have a rather poor attitude about today's lesson for a variety of reasons, but he had been polite enough to not voice that attitude. Certainly that was something, right? He would still do what was asked of him - and without complaining - but that didn't mean he had to like it.
He listened as a new spell was introduced.. and this was one he actually did not know. Hmm, maybe he actually would be learning something new today, even if it was more cleaning. Vitrumonia.. He took note of the proper incantation and wand movement, saying it in his head a few times. He then listened to their instructions. Cleaning the classroom.. no surprise there.
The boy wasn't exactly thrilled with the assignment, but he did secretly want to try out the new charm anyway so he headed towards one of the windows. They were filthy and it never failed to amaze him exactly how grimy and dirty the castle had gotten in just a matter of months without it being regularly cleaned. He pulled out his wand and pointed it at the top half of the window. "Vitrumonia!" he commanded, pulling the wand in a straight line. Instantly, the uppermost part of the window was clean and shiny, and the sun's rays shone through. Nice.
He repeated the motion on the lower half of the window. "Vitrumonia!" Again, the glass shone brightly as it was cleaned. Now the entire window was clear and sparkling. He had to admit that he was rather pleased with his work and the success of the spell, though he was sure he'd grow bored of this quickly. He looked around the classroom. Even with the entire class working, this place was still a mess.
