He tilted his head, looking at her curiously as she laughed. "Worse..?" He chuckled along with her. "I don't know about that.. I think if it was more available here, you'd be just as bad," he said with a wink before giving the menu a quick glance. No.. he didn't really think there would be Diet Coke on the menu. Tea was probably a good choice then. "Ready to order then?" he looked at her before glancing around again for the server. It seemed like their minds were made up anyway..
He gave her a somewhat wide smile at her words. "Well, I'd really like you to stay with us again if you'd like that too." It really did make the holidays special to have her with him, he didn't want to think about what it would be like otherwise. Then he nodded as she gave an explanation about her grandparents. "Oh, right.. I understand that.. You don't think they'll mind if you come with me though?" He didn't want to take her away from her family if they wanted her there.. but he was feeling a bit selfish too for wanting her to himself. He shook his head at her next words. "Don't feel that way, you aren't intruding.. I want you to be there.. and I know my parents would love to have you again." He placed his hand over top hers and gave her a smile, hoping she knew that he really meant those words. SHe was just that big a part of his life now that he wanted to share the olidays with her.. but he would understand if she decided to spend them with her grandparents.
"And speaking of Christmas.." he started with a grin. "It actually is coming up pretty soon.." It was already the first of November.. it would be a matter of weeks before they were leaving for break. "I do need some ideas for gifts, you know.." he added with a wink. "Not to mention someone's birthday is coming up.." So yeah, lots of ideas, please.. He had some planning to do.
Minerva was glad he didn’t think the sharing thing was to odd. It didn’t bother her, but she knew some that would have been freaked out by the suggestion. Which she thought they were the ones that were weird. Laughing she shook her head,
“No.. you are still more into that coffee then I am to the diet coke.” Still laughing she knew she was wrong, he was very much so right. If they had it here she would be horrible with it, but since she could only have it when she really needed it from her stash in her room, she was able to not go overboard.
“It’s just my summer thing, that’s all. School It’s tea and hot chocolate that get me through.” Nodding her head she was ready to order and looked around to see if the server could take the order. The place was a bit busy, but it wouldn’t be a problem waiting, that was just more time for them.
A warm smile crossed her face as he said he would like her to be with him. She hardly ever wanted to be away from him, so knowing he felt the same made her happy. Minerva shook her head and frowned a bit, she could lie and say no, but that wasn’t her, she never lied. Giving a little sigh, she looked at the table,
“No they would probably love if I was there, but they understand why I don’t go.” She moved in her seat a bit,
“I loved Christmas it was one of our favorites; we use to go to their house when we lived in the States. The last Christmas I spent with them was the year before I started Hogwarts.” She played with a fork from the table, she hadn’t really explained to anyone why she stayed away from her grandparents, she just always used their lack of money for an excuse, because it wasn’t really a lie, they really couldn’t afford all the plane tickets all the time, but it was just half the reason she didn’t go.
“I guess I just have avoided it for that reason, I want to just keep the thought of there with my parents. “ She looked up at him with an apologetic look.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to get all down discussion on you..” She didn’t want to ruin their date with a depressing story, way to be Minerva, number one person to ruin a good time.
She gave a small smile to him saying his parents would like her there, she was always afraid they would start to get annoyed that she was there.
“I just feel bad. Since I’ve come around, they don’t just get you alone anymore. I know they probably want the family time with just you three.” She hated feeling like the charity case, she started hating holidays for that reason a few years ago. She fell silent for awhile still fidgeting with the fork until she heard him speak again and she looked up,
“Oh E.. I don’t know.” She was never good at giving ideas, she felt awkward doing it, she was the girl that told Santa that anything would be fine.
“I could be saying the same to you, I need some ideas as well.” She smiled knowing she just turned the question a bit. Then a thought crossed her mind,
“Do you think while were on break I’ll have time to get the butterfly and Lily I told you about? Your still going to go with me when I get it done, right?” Min wasn’t going to lie, she was terrified to get a tattoo, but really did want to get this.
“I’m thinking about getting the butterfly bewitched, I read about them and they sound really neat.” She wondered what his thoughts would be to that.
