Mo paused in wrapping up his very first jar, going very still as the chatty!girl was being chatty. Oh, was that what it was like to talk to him? All those questions and thoughts and not a moment to respond to them? He squinted at the girl before shrugging and tying a ribbon around the mouth of the jar. Since she wanted it and all. "We don't work all the weekends, but yeah, we're super impressive. I'm often impressed by us. But are you using the eggs in a beauty product? Do you sell them? Because to make enough product to sell, you have to buy in BULK, and I just so happen to be willing to sell in bulk. I'll sell you my last four jars for 15 galleons. That's a great deal."
Professor Botros got a nod and a wink. "YES! I mean, no. I don't sell them." She giggled at the mere idea. "I'm just experimenting. I will sell them as soon as I can confirm they're not a hazard on humans though! Or maybe I can offer my invention -when I have one- to one of those companies! I'll have my face on a few hundreds ft long building!Oh, I think you're right! I need to buy in bulk. What if my whole invention depended on those last two jars? Grandpa?" She didn't wait for Ab to reply or even nod, her hand slipped into her tiny pocket and she slammed five galleons on his table. Grandpa would pay the other five. "I'll take two jars. It was really nice meeting you, Marco. I would say white and fair colors suit you very much, your face makes people trust you really quickly so why not compliment your natural gifts with better clothes? Hmm? I know those things, I spent half my life shopping and going to fashion shows. It comes naturally to me! Have a nice day and let's hope you don't get lice in Hogwarts." With a bright smile she left her grandpa to handle the jars, because GUESS WHAT? There was a girl with a fascinating hat on nearby! Botros sighed and gave his student an encouraging arm pat before handing him five galleons. "I appreciate the gesture, son, but it's okay really. Five galleons it is." Ab knew this was for a good cause and he wouldn't hold back on chipping in, in every possible way. "That was a very good bargaining. Your skill is almost as good as your Galdr chanting." Smiling and tapping both jars with his cane to shrink them. "I need to get her out of here before she drives the kids mad." And there she was staring at Alice's egg hat... oh, not good. They were being in pretty colored jars over here, too, tiny girl, and GOOD ones as well. Her hat said so.
The hat, obviously, was the clincher here.
But no one was COMING to her and she finally gave in. She could lure them over there without screaming, though, yeah? "Those are some lovely eggs you've purchased there, miss," Alice informed the small person when she was close enough, speaking matter-of-factly and trying to sell to the young one instead of her professor. Mostly because she probably had her grandfather wrapped around her little finger (and she knew all about that, the fifth year had one of those, too). "What're you getting them all for? Making something with them, I assume? Because if you were, you'd need good eggs." She tapped her hat knowingly, just so little miss Botros knew she'd be getting the best eggs around if she got them here.
Then she pushed forward a couple more jars of the prettiest colored jars that little girls would possibly like.
And waited to be given money. "Merlin's pants! Your cap! It's brilliant! Where did you get it? Did you make it? Is it for sale? Oh, I wish I could buy it! I can give you five galleons for it, I can't just focus on the eggs when I'm not wearing a similar egg hat! It gives you this--" Marci struggled for a moment trying to come up with a word, "--funky look! It'll be SO great if I get out of here with a dozen jars and an egg hat on my head. Now I know why Merlin didn't want me to wear my beret! It's destined, I think. If five galleons aren't enough, I can pay twelve. I can't pay more than that now because we still need to stop by the three broomsticks and have something to eat. Papa didn't tell me there was a sale here, if he had I would've brought more money. Can you believe how lucky you and me are? You want to sell things and I want to buy them!" The twenty one year old flashed the girl a dazzling grin. SEE? Everything was so clear! "Your jars are more colorful and neat than the rest of the boys but I think it's because we, girls, know how to present things better. It's not their fault they forget about beauty. Especially when they're this young. But I want to buy your hat. You can break one of the jars and assume it was bought instead if you want." Botros, from where he stood by Mo's table, shook his head. "Hello Captain Fischer. That's Marci, my granddaughter. Marci, you can't tell her to do that. She offered you her egg jars." He chastised and waited for them to close the deal. Quote:

Welp, it was time to fix that. "Hey, Professor Botros, Mr. Firth! Have some good, quality Slytherin eggs here!" Because everything Slytherin was the best DUH! Good solid argument there. Plus, wasn't the staff supposed to be fair to everyone, regardless of house? Yeah, thought so.
And smirk and thumbs up to you, Odessa and Captain. "Hello there, miss!" He did remember her from his classes. Also a very good runester. Botros smiled apologetically and gestured toward his granddaughter. "I'm sorry, dear. She already bought four jars. We're all egged out today." Unless Fischer fools her into buying more... "But good luck anyways." |
