Mweh. What was done was done, no need to discuss it further. He swallowed at last.

"No one told me too," he said absent-mindedly. Well, obviously no one had told him. It was just Forrest's way of trying to make Tobias feel better, if he was down a bit. Forrest couldn't tell.

Forrest listened to him carefully, ceasing to eat at times. So not only he needed a special teaching to handle his magic. Up until now, it had been a secret burden on his heart, but it was relieving to hear that. Wait... was it okay for him to be happy to hear both of them needed 'special' education? He couldn't decide, and dropped the matter at last. He'd ask his mother later about it, in a bloody letter which was so artificial... it was nothing like a telephone, but he had to do with it.

He gasped at the running part, because--was Tobias aware how "Cool!" it was? "The fanciest thing I did was setting a paper on fire, but running is better," he commented, eyes all open in wonder. Maybe that was because he never did anything but things found him, so that he never had to run but had to defend. Shrug. In either case, magic helped them to stand against bullies and that made him like the boy even more. Their pasts were somewhat similar. He'd decided that it was good to feel relieved for having gone through similar things. That proved he wasn't a freak like his brother put it.

"Magic proves to be useful, after all." He grinned and drank some water. His plate was empty now, and he eyed his to see whether he was finished too.

Oh.
He blushed and grinned afterwards, because even though he'd shaken out of fear for a long time then, it sounded cool now.

Checking his watch, he sighed. "I guess we should return to common room." It was almost first years' curfew.
Tobias couldn't decide on what really was better... running or fire. He supposed that being able to set things on fire was quite cool, but when it was accidental magic, then maybe it could be cool for a while and then slightly dangerous. Whereas with running it really was awesome to run and suddenly find out you were a lot further than most people could get, but what if you found yourself somewhere you didn't recognise.

But he was thinking about negative aspects of things, and Tobias had always tried his best NOT to look at the cons. Of anything. It was why he was always so happy, even if it was a slightly unhealthy way to look at it. Either way, magic was cool. And he didn't focus on the fact that they were expected to learn to control their accidental magic (somehow), but instead that they would learn knew magic. Tobias could learn fire, that seemed like something to be learnt, and there were probably ways of learning how to run super quickly using magic or whatever that Forrest would enjoy. Magic seemed win win win win win. Something good for everyone.

"I'd go as far as saying magic is downright awesome," Tobias grinned. He still wasn't over the fact that it was real. Magic was real.

Ah yeah... common room. Tobias didn't have a watch or a very good grasp of time, so it was good that Forrest pointed that out. "Good point, I still have a bunch of homework to do as well," Tobias agreed, finishing up his own water and glancing up at the ceiling to check the weather out of a pure habit he'd developed. Once he'd done that he stood, making sure he wasn't about to fall over his robes or look stupid some other way, and led the way out of the hall, reaching into his pocket to find a knut to have ready for the turnstiles.
