Lifting her eyes without lifting her head she remembered she was suppose to be in a pose, thankful they were switching to another pose, Minerva tried to lift her head, but she wasn't able to get the blush out of her face. Maybe she could just leave class. No that wouldn't work being in the front row. She took a deep breath and moved into the next Yoga pose. "Achoo" This needed to stop, she was embarrassed enough.

Once into the yoga position, Minerva found it hard to stand still with the sneezing, but she tried to put her hand up anyway. "If a boggart is a non-being, would it be like a mist or ghost type of matter when alone." She really wasn't sure, but how would anyone really know. No one would be near a boggart if it was alone.
Moving back into the tree pose, wobbling a bit more than she was used to due to the sniffles and sneezes, her focus went more towards the students and their answers than her balance. "An excellent thought." she nodded. "It could very well be, considering the tiny spaces it can find itself in."

Back to the lesson. No one had actually seen a Boggart, had they? he knew they were non beings. "Do they look like ghosts, perhaps?'' he asked, his hand in the air. As for how they came into the world, Jory had no idea.
Aw yes, she was beginning to think this was going to be a popular theory. Not that she could blame them. It was indeed plausible. "Perhaps, Mister Stonewall." She smiled encouragingly. "Though a ghost of what is the real question, unless you are suggesting those spirits in which have no form."

"They could be invisible monsters. As in... ugly but invisible." Ghosts wasn't the exact word he would use, but definitely something similar.

Wibblewobble.

He tried his hardest to put it to the back of his mind, but Theo could feel himself trying to sniff. It was definitely a trick of the mind, what with all these sick people around him, but he was not going to let it control him. He just really wanted to go to the bathroom and disinfect himself. Also, he did need to pee.
Her eyebrows raised somewhat. "Invisible." She repeated, nodding her head from side to side. "Completely possible. They could also be downright ugly, you're right."

"Um...Professor? They probably were born out of our own superstitions and fears and maybe they don't actually exist in concrete terms--maybe they are only created when we fear something. Oh that sounds silly I know-- not such a 'Claw answer I suppose."
"Nazdrave." Goodness.

"I beg to differ, Miss Opal. I think that is a very excellent theory and not silly at all." Medea would've huffed a little at the stereotype position the young girl placed herself in though if she wasn't already battling the sniffles and sneezes. "It is rather possible they do not have a true form until one is given to them by our fear. Keep on your train of thought."

Wobbling slightly he turned his head to see how Lotus was faring with this yoga stuff. She was probably all graceful and stuff. Girls.
Oh, both an excellent theory and slightly disturbing image on a boggart's form as well as their first theory on how they came to be. Ravenclaws seem to be on fire today. "An interesting theory, Mister Odgen. Would be rather likely, considering the spaces they find themselves in. No doubt need to be able to squish and stretch naturally."

"Can you expand a little on what you mean by being created by 'something', though?" She was curious to know those thoughts.

I hope it hadn't been a big mistake to say it aloud. People could laugh at her for her sharing her delirious theory.
Still, after her years of tutoring and now her taste for teaching at an institute, young students still surprised her with how amazing their minds were. "A rather logical theory, though one I'm not going to disagree with. It's entirely possible. An excellent train of thought, Miss Glasswall."

Also, Boggarts? She knew nothing about them. Well, Nate had told her SOME stuff, but nothing really notable. No matter. Someone had to say the obvious. Tanner raised her right hand and almost fell over. Timmmmmber, she wanted to yell.

"Umm, aren't Boggarts just projections of peoples fears?" Wow, that actually sounded kind of smart. For and ickle firsty of course. "Like if you were afraid of spiders, it would be a spider?" And there the smartness went.
Oh, another first year participating! She did quite enjoy when they did. "Yes, Miss Donne. They are indeed projections of people's fears, though it's when they are alone by themselves in which we're trying to figure out on just what they look like."

As for boggarts, Ella shuddered a bit as she thought of what they might look like on their own. "Professor, perhaps they are like a mist or fog, able to immediately transform themselves into whatever fear they need to at a moments notice." Wild guess was wild but she really had no idea. From what she'd read, no one knew for sure what a boggart actually looked like when alone. And the blonde was even more unsure of how they came about but she chanced a guess, "Could they have been a creation of a dark witch or wizard, Professor?"
ACHOO!

She'd held it in long enough. Her nose was beginning to burn because of it.

Clearing her throat a little, her attention turned to the next student to speak up. Another theory on where boggarts came from! "Entirely possible, yes." She nodded with a smile. "Which I'm more inclined to believe, considering some of the places boggarts find themselves in are rather tight. They no doubt need to have the ability to mold to their surroundings."

"As for their creation, it is quite a disappointment we don't officially know how they came to be. Being created by a dark witch or wizard isn't entirely impossible, per say, though the number of boggarts in the world could act against that theory in some opinions. Though I do believe we shouldn't leave any theory out. Excellent train of thought, Miss Bishop."

"Like a shadow?" Medea questioned, the warm and encouraging smile playing across her lips as she thought about it, only to nod a moment later. "Could be. They do indeed enjoy dark places, so it's possible."

Susan's grandmother had told her about boggarts a few years back. So Sue kind of knew what they were, but she couldn't quite remember everything her grandmother had told her. "Nobody really knows what a boggart looks like when it is alone." Susan was positive that is what her grandmother said to her. "Umm...but I am not sure how they came about." Sue knew her grandmother told her something about that but for the life of her she just couldn't remember.
...

"You're right. They don't." Medea smiled and nodded. Perhaps the young Hufflepuff misunderstood her question? Nevertheless, the defense professor was still pleased to hear the little information young Susan had given.

At least she knew, yes?

Oh, Laura was all over the place with that answer. Though, one particular part had her eyebrows raising more than previously. Who...was Captain Kirk? "Boggarts were created long before the Dark Lord, Miss Hyde. Though your theory on coming from another plan-" Oh! Oh dear.

Down she went. "Are you alright, Miss Hyde?"

What was with the students today and not using their other foot to balance themselves out?

Sort of. He was swaying on the spot, a little bit. "Uhm, I'd imagine they don't take any shape at all." If they did, someone WOULD have figured out a way to see said shape, right? "Maybe when they're alone they take the shape the boggart itself fears the most?" Whatever that was. What could fear itself be afraid of? "Maybe that's why they prey on us. Maybe by taking the shape of someone else's biggest fear, boggarts get to pretend they don't fear anything at all." A pause - a necessary pause. Ezra lowered his foot for a moment, then lift it back up again. "Or maybe they don't exist at all, not unless there's a human around. Maybe they live in a constant state of... not really living." Hmm. "It sounds very awful but maybe it's a little bit fair, too."
Had she ever mentioned that she did love when the younger students participated? Their imagination were so expansive, she could listen to their answers all day. Medea smile lightened a little, not exactly reaching her eyes. "Well, as awful of a way to live as that may seem, there could be some truth behind your words. Perhaps they aren't dark creatures at all and truly need us to live." It wouldn't be the first time mankind has been wrong.

"Though out of curiosity, what do you think a boggart's fear would be, Mister Carver?"

Medea squinted a little, both from the sun in her eyes and the fact that she felt another sneeze coming on. Ahem. "I'm sorry, Mister Barrington, you've lost me a little." She chuckled lightly. "Are you saying perhaps they end up shape-shifting into that of someone's fear while alone to have a corporeal form instead of like some of your classmate's guesses of being in a non-corporeal form such as a mist or shadow?"

Lex took a moment to regain balance after tipping over and nearly falling, possibly she might have taken Lottie down with her so it was good she got her balance at the last minute. "As for how they came about, I think it could be a manifestation of fear itself. Picture it, little Timmy's left with his stupid older cousins while his parents are out. They shut all the lights off and start making creepy noise--poor Timmy wets himself, scared out of his senses and that fear slowly takes on qualities of living things because it's so great, pretty soon it's going around scaring other children senseless following the same technique as little Timmy's cousins," see why idiots should be locked in cages? They gave monsters ideas, "And now there's big numbers of them because he spread." Nodnodnod.

WHOA!!

This time she did lose her balance and toppled right to the floor. Ow..."I'm okay." Owwww...
Rubbing her nose a little, she moved her hands back to into the prayer pose while turning her attention to the next student speaking up. Aw, Miss Cambridge. "Playdoe." she repeated, eyebrows raising in amusement. Well, that certainly was a first to be said, no doubt. She chuckled lightly and nodded anyhow. It was still just as possible as everyone else's answers after all.

Though her reasons on how the boggart was created was rather interesting. Medea was silent for a moment after the young Gryffindor spoke, until she slowly nodded. "Fear is a powerful emotion." she started to say, moving out of her tree pose to grab another tissue. "And would give reason on how they have multiplied. Excellent thought, Miss Cam..."

And down she went. She was starting to consider having a class on balancing.

Carefully, Ronnie lifted her right leg and rested her foot on her left inner thigh. She wobbled a bit but kept her balance, and listened as the professor asked about boggarts. Oh! Ronnie knew! Ronnie knew! She cleared her throat before she spoke. "Well, since a boggart is like a non-being, wouldn't appear maybe like a little misty orb or... or like a ghosty looking figu- Woa-whoooaa!" she wobbled and tipped over onto the ground again.

Ugh. How many bloody times was all this going to happen today?! She stood up and wiped all the grass off her robes and sighed. She then got back into position, making sure to be VERY careful.
Medea slowly nodded, coming out of her tree pose and raised the tissue to cover her nose and mouth. ACHOO!ACHOO!ACHOO! Good merlin, her eyes were starting to water. Ahem. Sniffle. Oh, oh dear. She was DEFINITELY considering holding a class on balancing. "Quite likely, Miss Hawkins. Good theory."

She thought hard about the boggart's true form, but she really didn't know. In fact, she didn't think anyone knew. But she gave it a shot anyway. "Well, I guess it's anyone's best guess unless someone who was truly fearless saw one - but then again, maybe that person just wouldn't see anything at all. And where they came from, I don't really know either, but I'd have to agree with Lex - maybe it's just a manifestation of fear itself, but how it gained the ability to take a physical form...well maybe that came from a dark spell, or an innocent one gone wrong." She knew that could happen sometimes.
The idea of someone being so fearless that a boggart wouldn't take shape of anything was one that Medea was inclined to disagree with, though, much like everyone's answers today, the idea wasn't impossible. "Perhaps." she nodded, rubbing her nose with her tissuse before sticking it upon her neatly stacked pile of used ones next to her feet. "An excellent theory, Miss Dawnsel."

“Um I’m going to go and expand on what Aurora said” she muttered, “the boggarts are everyone’s fears – but wizards aren’t the only ones who fear…muggles have fear as well, they call the creepy-critters in the night boogey men.” She bit her lip, “could they come into being because of the fear and imagination of not only young muggles but young wizards and witches as well?” She asked as she tried to continue balancing with the tree pose.
Oh! "An interesting theory, Miss Johanson." Medea nodded slowly, nodding her head from side to side. "Perhaps not as large? They do tend to hide in cramped spaces, though I like where your train of thought is going. Perhaps emotions aren't the only thing similar between the two creatures."

She nodded a bit more, smile widening a tad. "I think that's very possible, yes. Perhaps it's the combination of the two that makes them who they are."

"I think they'd probably look like mist, something invisible...Ready to assume the shape of anything at any given time."

Erm...did she still have to raise her hand to speak? Instead, with her arms still out to keep her balance, she bent her arm at the elbow so that her hand was kinda sorta up. She wobbled slightly on her foot as she did so, but that would have to do. "Maybe they don't look like anything at all?" she suggested. "Like they don't really have a body they just...are formless somehow or something. Since there's no one around for them to scare and that's sorta their main goal or whatever." Seemed like a decent guess. That was basically all she was doing with this entire answer. "And maybe they came about from a spell going wrong or something? Or a potion? Maybe something that was supposed to help with fear, and then it just went wrong and reacted with something else and a boggart was created?"

And then her arm went straight again because she was wobbling on her foot a lot. Merlin help her. The next pose needed to come soon and require less balancing.
How excellent. She did enjoy the out of the box thoughts every now and then. "Perhaps." she slowly nodded, just as slowly as she came out of the tree pose. Another sneeze was going to show itself and she didn't want to topple over because of it. "Your potion theory is rather interesting though and would be quite comical in a way if it were true. Something we should keep in mind. Excellent thoughts, Miss Greenwell."

...

ACHOO!

Sniffle.

"I'm saying..they might have changed to something fearful for someone else, while alone maybe the boggart would take the most fearful shape it had ever donned" There two possibilities, within the same position. Heh.
Medea chuckled lightly, moving back into the tree pose, resisting the urge to sniffle. "Quite the thought, Miss Kaul." she nodded somewhat. "And quite possible too."

"They could. You're right." Perhaps the image of the person whom held the fear they recently transformed into? Honestly, the thought never crossed her mind until now. Sonea opened her eyes when she thought that she could stand still and tried to think about the next question, what was difficult because she was not really good at balancing on one leg! Moving out of the tree post once again to grab another tissue, since she couldn't wait any longer or it'd look like her nose was turned on like a faucet, she turned away from the class momentarily to blow her nose. Ahem. Alright. "I think..." Sniffle sniffle. "...with the lack of balance some of you are showing today, we'll skip the last pose." Lack of balance and reflex to put your foot down before you fell over.

"So, going into our activity, I'd like for you to split yourselves into two groups. Or...actually...right down the middle here." She gestured to the middle of the class, as if chopping them into two sections. "Left side group one, right side group two. Please move your mats into a circle with your group. You may sit once you've done so as well."

She herself was moving to the group two, because RANDOM CHOICE that's why.

OOC: Forgive the slow posting during the lesson. A cold and epic toothache will do that to you! The lesson will move on fairly quickly now and will continue in about 5 hours AND end in approximately a day. Or a day and a half. Around there. Ahem. Continuing on!
