BEAM! "That's nice of you, y'know." For him to get something for her. Of course that was probably standard for anniversaries or something but Ella was far from an expert. And she didn't really need gifts when she got to have him. "I do, yeah." And they could just not talk about how long it'd taken her to pick things out. Or how worried she was that he wouldn't like it. ...He would like it, wouldn't he? Meep!

And then Alec was moving with impressive speed and had pulled out her chair for her. Blink. "Thanks!" How polite. The blonde took a seat and placed her hands on the gift box she'd brought, sliding it over to his side of the table. "For you."


The girl was smiling a LOT! Like a lot a lot! And Alec couldn't help but grin back at her. Because her smiling meant that he was already doing something right in the Making this an Awesome Anniversary Department. "You're really smiley, you know," Although, she probably knew that she was smiling.

"I... thanks! Isn't it normal anniversary behaviour?" Getting gifts and such? He was pretty sure it was, even in the dating department. And hopefully she'd know the answer to this because, well, it was no secret that Ella Bishop was smart. His smart girlfriend. His smart girlfriend Captain. Had he mentioned how proud he was of her? GRIN.

His eyes flew over towards the gift in her hand and he looked at it quickly before looking back at her. "Yeah? Well that's nice of you too!" Just saying. And he really wouldn't have minded if she didn't get him anything. Not at all.

"Anytime!" he said, moving around towards his own seat and sitting down again. There. Now this was starting to feel a little more... date-y. If that was a word, that is. "Me? I... thanks!" He grinned some more at the girl before carefully opening the box and taking a look inside. His eyes fell on the keychains first and he just... grinned. Because it had some boyfriend/girlfriend meaning to it, yeah? And it reminded him of pinky promises which his girlfriend was an absolute pro at giving out. But there was also a watch! A pretty awesome looking watch at that! GRIN.

"This is all really awesome, Ells!" Really. And did she want to tie the watch on him? ... Oh. Wait! "And these," he said, sliding the box and flowers forward, "Are for you!" Hopefully she'd like his. Hopefully.
