"Peppermint makes you less nauseated. What kind of potions would you use it in?" She asked, but didn't wait for an answer... "Once you've told me what each ingredient does, we will start brewing with them."
Dylan was casually leaning back in his seat, listening to everyone talk. It was all interesting stuff, of course...He enjoyed potions because it was an exact art. Yes, there was a process of figuring out amounts of ingredients and such...but after one was done with that, it was smooth sailing.
It was also rather exciting to think they'd be creating a potion today. The Slytherin figured it was time to get creative....since the school was broke.
Hand-raising...
"I started off with dittany...which is a healing plant...and one of those things were a little goes a long way. Essence of dittany is used for cuts and surface wounds....The mercury was something that I had." There was some throat clearing for that one...because it WAS poisonous and all that.
"I haven't personally used it before...but I was hoping to start experimenting with it as a conductor for poisons. Kinda like the bezoar stone does." Yea.....Yeeaaaaaaaa.
"Then I somehow found a Graphorn horn...." Somehow. There was no giving away triad secrets with others listening. He'd been the only one smart enough to think of it, obviously. "It's used in cures for uncommon poisons...in powdered form." He was hoping to mix it with the mercury and make something interesting.
"...and lastly, my own blood. I've read a ton of places that blood is used in darker potions...but I think I can experiment with it and give it new purpose...since it is the source of life."
It wasn't a big deal. He'd had an accident...and that was that.
........
Oh...they weren't brewing in class?
Biting at his lip, the Slytherin carefully gathered up his ingredients and then settled them down into his bag. He'd need to put them in a better place so they wouldn't get smashed or crushed prematurely.
Standing, he saluted Professor Lafay and smirked.
"Nice lesson, Professor."...and then he was leaving.
