The robe would only get in the way if Oakey was going to have to dodge a bunch of time to avoid being smooshed by the violent tree before him. Keeping his wand ready as well Oakey began getting closer to the Whomping Willow.
Good news was his ears were better since Renesmee screeched in them. He could hear his heart skip a beat.
