So Lafay did that too but she usually had reasons, MORE reasons than a thirteen year old running into her!
Bad mood? Riiiiight. Naturally she disregarded that for the more likely (to her) option. "YES! You think that might be it?? I mean, usually Hogwarts waits a while for something to go wrong." She paused and glanced around briefly. "What if she's the dark wizard--or in her case witch--we've been looking out for??" Whispering was necessary, believe it or not but once that was said she could talk normal again. "We haven't had any time to figure who'll get sacked yet, she needs to kinda...you know...come back later?" Dark wizards did that, yeah? There was no shame in taking an appointment. It prevented take over the world (school, same thing) plans from clashing. You'd think villains would think this through more thoroughly, jeeeez.
Lex nodded a bit. It was true. The girl had never said what reason it could be. "I doubt she even has anything good about her." This was how one passed rushed judgements. They ran into someone one day, got glared at then BAM bad judgement passed. Pretty easy once you had the hang of it. "Actually...if that woman really is what we," yes we, they're in this together, yup, "think she is, we might not have all that much time before she starts ruining things. What do you think?" Because Lottie's opinions mattered A LOT, especially when planning conspiracy theories; obviously.
Oh? Okay, we're working with you, Lex, no problem. The girl straightened herself on the chair, only a little bit, yet remained the closeness with her friend. Because this was all SECRETS, right? Hahaha, right. Only Bentley could hear.
An eyebrow was raised. Lottie definitely would be going to Charms WITH Lex. She needed to see this for herself.
You'd expect something like this from Lafay, but the new Charms lady? Bellaire only liked things neat and clean and organized, maybe it ran in the subject taught? Hence why the woman overreacted when Lex bumped into her and fell as well? It really made no sense, there had to be something else.
Some dark wizards aren't as clever as one thinks, actually. But Lottie said nothing, she just kept on listening to Lex. Well, that was amusing. The use of 'we'. It was official, then. Now Lottie had to think this woman was a dark witch, too. "Okay, listen carefully." This might get out of hands if she failed to bring some sense into it. "Perhaps she is just evil, or hates on everything." Sort of like they hated on idiots, yeah? "Maybe she is the dark witch that is going to make me pay you 5 galleons...," and she was totally okay with that, you know why? "...but I hardly think that she could be interested in a pair of third years like us." They weren't Harry Potter, you know?
She leaned on the chair, and sipped more tea. Pretending that she had nothing else to say. But she did. "We can and should keep an eye on her, though." Cruelty for no reason was simply unfair. We know where Lottie stands with fairness. And the next thing was very important, "Before you take this to any other professor...you're gonna have to have convincing evidence." PROOF. Nod, nod.
Oh, but one more thing. "I believe you, she was unnecessary rude to you, but we should wait a bit." At least until Charms class opens up. |
