I have no idea why we're here but it is a beautiful place to have a lesson in. But if I were to guess, are we going to learn about how to fight in an unusual environment, one that isn't the classroom?" There was just something about one of the stragglers being the first to raise their hand in the class that made today just that more awesome. "That is a very creative answer." Blue streeeeetched and popped a couple of joints before letting her arms swing down by her side. Might as well get ready for the yoga that was inevidtable. "Weeeeeeellllllllll, are we going to be teaching the Giant Squid some techniques?"
Yoga-ish of course. Oh! Another creative answer. She didn't even think about the giant squid! ...And had no idea what 'techniques' Blue was referring to. Perhaps for a future lesson though? She'd have to check their lesson plans. "I'm sure Bartholomew is fine without our help." Medea smiled anyhow, chuckling lightly. "That is a very good guess though." Quote:

"The way I see it, there could be two options." Solemn nod. "We're either learning how to handle ourselves against the Giant Squid, but really I heard he's quite nice so that might not be necessary," such a good Giant Squid that she totally didn't have a near obsession with, nope, "or we could be learning about something else in the water like grindylows? Outside of those two guesses....I dunno." She did smile at the end though. Smiling made everything better. Oh yes, there was grindylows in the lake too, wasn't there? Glancing out to the water, Medea squinted her eyes a little at it before turning her attention back to Alexa. "Both outstanding guesses, though neither of which we'll be learning today. Good try." After a few minutes he raised his hand. "How to defend our selves against the dark arts..." He mused, with a little grin on his face. Was kind of obvious really. And hmm...they were near the lake so maybe something to do with that. "And....maybe something about the lake...or water?" Yeah. That would do. He still didn't really have any ideas. ...
He was certainly a funny one!
"You were right on track with your first guess, Mister Belrose." Good try. Quote:

No, that wasn't anywhere close to what they were going to learn. "Wouldn't that be a fun lesson?" The students becoming the teachers? Oh yes! "But no, unfortunately that's not what we're doing today. I think our lovely Bartholomew knows a few tricks up his sleeve to have lived this long anyhow." Quote:

Sniffling a little more, eyes watering somewhat, Medea slowly nodded at the young Slytherin's very excellent guess. "Grindylows dear, yes. Though not exactly what we'll be learning today. A very excellent guess though." They were indeed by a lake filled with them after all. Quote:

She raised an eyebrow, wait a second where did her accent go? She spoke like them now? What, the Professor was faking the accent?? "Are we going to b..." ACHOO! "Be learning about," ACHOOO! "About water creatures and how to..." she took a breath trying not to sneeze again, "how to protect ourselves against them?" ACHOO!
Why was she suddenly sneezing so much? She never had problems with the outside before.... Oh dear.
"Nazdrave..." Oh, goodness, was there something in the air? She was feeling it herself actually, and trying very hard to keep herself from sneezing. "Excellent guess, Miss Eventide, though no. We aren't going to learn about water creatures today."
.........
Nope, she held that sneeze in. Quote:

He leaned back on his hands, looking around the 'classroom' space as a he listened to a few people talk. Grindylows seemed like a good guess to him, personally. But he didn't want to sound like a broken record so he just raised his hand and said the first thing that came to him. "There are merpeople in the lake, right?" He didn't know if they would be considered something they would need to defend themselves against... but it'd be cool to study them anyway. Jake had thought about learning Mermish before, even. Taking a deep breath, Medea nodded, only to... ACHOO!
She wanted to hold that in, but good Merlin, felt so good to let it out. Her eyes could stop watering now. Right? Stop watering! "Yes-" Oh. No. No, holding it...in. There we go. "Yes, thou- ACHOO!... Though- ACHOO! Goodness, excuse me." Rubbing her nose a little, she pinched the sides until the need to sneeze again went away. Merlin, needed some tissues now.
"...though not what we'll be discussing today. Good guess, Mister Keller." Quote:

Then Professor Romanos spoke and well... he was not entirely sure. "Perhaps as others have suggested you are going to teach us about many of the water dwelling creatures." Though he doubted she would sit them beside the lake in hopes of dealing with a Dark Creature that could potentially harm them. And well... couldn't she teach a lesson on those things inside? Debating whether or not to summon some tissues, she moved on to the next student who had their hand raised...or not raised. Whatever worked for them. Perhaps she should've chose another area instead of by the lake. It was really throwing off their answers. "Not today, Mister Odgen. Good guess though!"
Oh, goodness. He wasn't a new student at all! What was she thinking before...? Quote:

Oh? "We are out here for the fresh air, though not because it's cleaner out here than the castle." She paused momentarily, holding down another sneeze while she smiled. "And no, nothing on water demons. Good train of thought though, Mister Odessa." Quote:

"Achoo" Oh thankfully she had pulled her elbow to her face to block the sneeze, that wouldn't be very nice. Turning back to what she was doing, she laid out her quill. "Achoo... Achoo.. Achoo" Sniffing after the last one she looked around, what was wrong with her today. Wiping her hand on her face, she hoped she wasn't getting sick or something. She had never had allergies so it couldn't be that.
Oh the lesson was going to start. Sitting up straighter, but still feeling that annoying tickle in her nose, she tried to listen, "Achoo" Honest to goodness.. she turned red embarrassed to have sneezed so much.
Now what were they doing today, hmmm what could they be doing today. "Professor in a class before we had learned about different animals that are considered to be part of the dark title. Grindylow was one of the ones that was discussed, and I Achoo.. achoo.. achoo oh, excuse me.. I'm sorry" sniffling a bit, she couldn't figure out what was going on. "anyway, I know they live in the black lake, could we be discussing how to defend against them today?" They had done that once before though, in their Care of Magical Creatures class so she wasn't sure she was right. So, it was Miss Wheatborn who was sneezing?
She'd heard someone while the other students were talking. "Nazdrave." she said after the sneezes seemed to stop. Medea smiled and nodded a little, not minding the interruption. A few of them had the problem today. Herself included.
"An excellent guess, but not what we're learning today." Quote:

Fiddlesticks, this was ridiculous. Perhaps she should've re-thought the whole 'Lets do a lesson outside because it was a nice day!' idea. "Good guess, Miss Bishop, though no, not today." ACHOO! Quote:

DUH, it was so obvious now. Taking another deep breath, feeling the tickling sensation in her nose again, her eyebrows raised somewhat both from trying to keep the inevitable down and at the next answer given. Oh, Mister Kinsley. We know you're more creative than that!

It must have been the sun in her eyes. She knew it had to be that. There were no other reasons. She brushed her hand through her hair and felt her face tingling once more.
Raising her hand she tried her best answer. "Professor are we..." she paused as she scrunched up her face again and made a weird look. "learning s-se-se-eelf defense" she finally stammered out. This was peculiar she had no idea why she had stammered over saying self. She didn't have a stutter and now people would think she did. Specifically having to do with water and spells, and thank merlin, not water creatures. Some different answers were always welcome. "Not quite..." The young girl scratched behind her ear and tried to answer, even if her answer was fault, and raised her hand before she answered, slowly and hesitant. “Are we learning about pixies?” Sonea had just made a guess but she was really curious about the blue little creatures, she had heard a lot about them! ...
Eyes still watering a little, and with a post sneeze expression on her face, Medea stared at the young Slytherin. Well, that was certainly a creative guess. OWLs, y'know.

Stuff. "Maybe they're hoping it'll make us feel a little bit better." Or probably worse. Ezra had never seen a merperson but he'd read about them and he couldn't say they sounded all that pleasant. "I s'ppose we could be dueling, too, though, learning how to defend ourselves from multiple threats, all at once!" It sounded exciting enough, Ezra supposed - like a battle! But Ezra was only interested in battles as long as battles involved swords, and he was pretty sure this class wasn't about swordsmanship. Which, of course, explained his completely unexcited tone of voice.
He actually looked a little pale. The Gryffindor seemed rather confident that this was what they're learning.
Nevertheless, Medea's smile grew as he went on with his answer. That was actually rather sweet. Though no, unfortunately it wasn't what they were learning. "Not quite, Mister Carver." She said, sniffling slightly afterward. Her eyes were watering up again. "Though you're beginning to be on the right track with your last thought."

He had been staring out over the water and almost missed the Professor's question as he sat there thinking about all the times he had watched his parents practice without them knowing he was there. Well, for her. The students weren't exactly facing it. "What we will be learning..." Sniffle. "...is mostly theoretical, about two dark creatures, a bit similar to each other.
