The glass of lemonade floated to Ethan and hovered beside him until he took it; a glass did the same towards Elwood until she grabbed it with a hand full of licorice wands. "It's nothing to thank us for, really. You're the one who's worked so hard these past few terms, we just were in the position to make the call." She grinned brightly as she sat up closer in her chair to peer at the package he had been holding the whole time.
Travel was nice. Callie needed to do more European travel in the future. She had made it to Romania with Medea but she had stuck mostly to the United Kingdom and back in the States. "An Alpine Greenhouse? You must tell Professor Bentley, she will probably be a tad jealous and no doubt will beg you to sneak her a few plants." Elwood giggled at the thought. But Callie was getting a gift, HOLD THE PHONE!!!
"Oh Ethan, it's beautiful." She looked at the little plant with it's white flowers and listened as the Prefect spoke. "Yes, yes, the Edelweiss! I have read about these. It can be used in some folk medicines and is known to represent strength and resilience because of the altitudes in which it grows." She beamed at it before jumping out of her seat ubruptly and then running it over to the window and setting it down on the sill.
"But surely you know that." She looked back over at him. "Thanks so much."
Green eyes followed the levitating glass of lemonade until it neared and Ethan reached out to grab it, giving Elwood and appreciative nod. He gave her a small, modest smile as she continued about his prefectship.
"Well, I still appreciate the sentiment all the same," he said, after lifting the glass to his lips for a quick drink.
"It's an honor to even be thought of to fill this role," he added with a casual shrug. He still wasn't sure how qualified he was to be a leader, but the more he thought about it, the more he realized he was enjoying it so far.
He grinned widely and nodded in confirmation.. working at the Alpine house was an amazing part of the summer. He hadn't been able to get into any of the experimental stuff he enjoyed, but he had gotten some future ideas.
"Yes, I do plan on visiting her as well.. I did bring back a few seedlings." They were easier to transport that way and then he could perform Vitaris on them at school if needed. He had a few ideas to share with the Herbology professor as well.
The Ravenclaw boy beamed as Elwood graciously accepted the plant. He was really glad she liked it.
"Edelweiss is one of my favorites," he nodded, noting the Floromancy properties.
"I did know that," he chuckled, Divination being one of his favorite classes.
"But I think I like it mostly because it reminds me of home." He grinned a little, watching her put the pot on the window sill.
"Oh, you're welcome.. very sparse watering, ok Professor?"
Ethan took another sip of his lemonade and settled back in his chair. While he did want to grace Professor Elwood's office with a gift of edelweiss as a manner of gratitude, he did have another reason for visiting her office.
"So, Professor," he began after a moment's hesitation.
"I was wondering if you could help me with something.. I've been having this recurring dream lately.." He thought for a moment before continuing.
"I guess they started about 6 or 8 months ago. Not every night or anything, but often enough to be called recurring.. and while I wouldn't consider this particular dream to be a nightmare, it is somewhat.. bothersome, I guess." He shrugged and looked up at Elwood.
"I was wondering if maybe Oneiromancy could help me make sense of things?" And while he could come up with his own theories, he trusted her as an expert who might have a better answer.
