Hogwarts RPG Name: Kahlan Moriarty Second Year | Text Cut: Forrest Quote:

Ahem. "Yeah, tv--as in television," he said, smiling. "That's cool that you have a muggle friend. Now you also have me." She DID consider him as a friend, yes?! He didn't force her into being friends with him, did he? Because that'd be horrible and... his heart sank at the thought, so he quickly went on. "I watch TV, movies, play video games on computer... and I go to matches. Football." His face shone brighter than the Sun when he pronounced the name 'football'. "Well, that was before we moved to Saudi Arabia... football there is bad." He paused for a moment, oblivious to the possibility that she'd never heard these names before, because he was sad all of a sudden for remembering AGAIN that there was no TV in this world. No bloody TV, and that meant no Premier League. It DEPRESSED him to think that, so he was silent for a while, thinking, until she mentioned Quidditch.
And yeah. There was that. A sport that could never be as exciting as football.
He did try to get his old excitement back though, because it was a passion for her and he didn't want to be rude or lose his only friend so far. "I wish you good luck nevertheless," he said with a smile, still struggling to forget about Premier League. "I know that it's on brooms and there are chasers to score and a seeker is to catch something to end the game..." He paused for a moment to see whether he forgot something, but he didn't. "And that's it." Kahlan bit her lip for a minute as she thought about her own family and how she had missed them quite a lot - grateful that she had a cat that loved to cuddle to keep her company while she was away from them... and conveniently also a gift from her brother.
Then when he spoke her eyebrows furrowed for a moment - so tv actually was short for something? "Television? Sounds weird..." she commented, after trying out the word for herself. Not that she was judging, some of the words that she'd heard in the magical world sounded pretty weird... even weirder than television now that she was thinking about it!
Hearing him now comment that he was her friend, a grin spread over the girls face leaving her basically beaming. Well, that definitely meant considering him a friend wasn't a one sided thing! "Yeah... it is pretty cool when you think about it... and now you have yourself a friend who grew up in this occasionally strange world" she commented, winking at him as she joked about the world that she'd grown up in.
Though it was her just being honest.
Video games? While she'd heard of them she didn't exactly know what it meant but that didn't bug her as much as hearing the word football. The blonde had often heard Amy and her brother talking about football, and the word matches made it sounds like some sort of sport, so a small blush forming on her face leaving her to realize how Forrest must feel asking about the magical world she quietly asked, "What's football?"
Giggling slightly at how much little he knew about Quidditch she couldn't help thinking about how her brother would've been horrified at the thought - Liam was almost too passionate about the sport. However the amused smile definitely stayed, and while she normally would've explained it she shrugged. "Close enough" she joked, he'd probably learn more about it when actual games between houses started. |
