Kat was starving. Although she tried not to remember the food from the Welcoming Feast, it didn't help her appetite at all. She needed food and she had nowhere else to go but the Great Hall. Maybe she should've bought a lot of food from the food trolley. They were better than the food in the feast, but it seemed like they didn't have a choice anymore. Making her way to the Great Hall, Kat walked fast. Almost running, but not exactly. She needed food as soon as possible.

Until she reached the entrance...

This was HORROR. The Great Hall now had a payment center like the common rooms? Kat eyed them. What is this joke? Whenever they needed food, they had to pay not one knut, but TEN of them. She crossed her arms. Kat was not okay with this at all, but her stomach seemed to be desperate for food. Good thing she had her coin bag with her. She took ten knuts and dropped all of them in... except the tenth knuts.

Hey, what if her gargoyle could drop that? It would be interesting, and nobody was in here but her now so why not take the opportunity to test it out? She took out her gargoyle from her pocket (she was supposed to teach it tricks WHILE eating too) and her wand out, holding the knut in between her pointer and middle finger of her left hand. Her gargoyle sat on the palm of her left hand and her wand on the right hand. "Piertotum Locomotor!" she said with a small wave of her hand. She kept her wand inside her pocket after casting the spell and took the knut with her left hand. Okay... so... "Drop the knut inside the hole on top of the turnstile." Phew, what a mouthful.

And then her gargoyle, Gary, bit on the knut. Kat moved her hand nearer to the turnstile and her gargoyle dropped it inside the whole. BINGO! "Good job, Gary," Kat said and beamed. The turnstile unlocked and Kat made her way in with Gary.

... Gargoyles don't need payment right?
