Oakey looked down at Alice only for a moment and missed about half of what she said before Truebridge blew up. Oakey's eyes went wide and did not blink once....well okay once, and when she thanked him. Even if it sounded like there was no gratitude in it.
Once the Headmistress walked off he spoke to Renesmee not facing her though, his eyes still very much wide. He didn't even see Alice or the Ravenclaw girl leave, but felt shivers down his spine like he was being given the evil eye every two seconds. "Galleons count as 493 entrances." Oakey said to her awkwardly. He wasn't even sure how the Head Girl took this. The Headmistress did just call them failures, and they only just started.

"We'll just stick with the system we've got now. I'll even carry around a second jar and put myself out there in case anyone needs a knut" Oakey continued the awkward conversation with the wall. One Galleon or one sickle really wasn't that big a deal. Plus Oakey could take his jar back.

Maybe he should blink now his eyes were getting watery.
