Professor Pink | Mrs. Bruce Wayne | I'm on a Goat | Glitterpuff | Dumbledore's Defense Squad | BHB

Mmmkay, so everyone here CLEARLY didn't look happy to be here, and Bunz wasn't happy to be here, so... why were they all here then? The redhead's blue eyes darted from one student to the next as they all spoke... and what came out of their mouths? NOTHING BUT COMPLAINING. You would THINK that they would have taken her speech at the start of term to heart. BUT NOOOOOOO. Here they all were, WHINING about LIFE not being FAIR.

Anastasia waited until everyone had said their piece... so far... and then she cleared her throat important. She sincerely hoped they had all come to this little tête-à-tête hungry, because they were ABOUT TO GET SERVEDDDD.

Pink. Pink bright coloured sofas were what met Nessie's eyes as they reached the Headmistresses office. So apparently broke school's could keep pink coloured unessecary furniture, but make their kid's pay an entrance fee to get inside their common rooms. Tooooottaaly fair....not.

Caalm though, she needed to stay calm. Breathe in and then one out. This would all be fine.

Both Alice and the Ravenclaw with her each got nods. Next Nessie followed Oakey and plonked on the couch only to get up again at the sight of her Headmistress. She bit her lip looked to see if the others wanted to talk first and decided it was best to just blurt things out, before a change of mind. "Sorry to bother you, Headmistress and I don't mean any offence..." Because politeness was still important. "I ..we just decided to come here because this whole paying thing to get inside our common rooms, it's not really fair on us. I mean I get that for some reason the school's all changed now, but it's just most of us are kids Professor...we can't pay." It wasn't about the money for Ness though, she was more concerned about the fairness of it, thus she itched to comment on the couches but knew that wasn't a good idea.

So um..Truebridge wouldn't get mad at them for being here about this, yeah? Merlin, this whole thing. Deep breathes, deep breathes, that's what she needed.

Oh Annie KNEW this wasn't going to be pretty when the child started off with 'sorry' and 'no offense.' That almost guarantEED that she was going to be offended by whatever came tumbling out of her mouth next. And sure enough, she sure was.

"Excuse me, Miss Dixon, but maybe you can clarify something for me before we go any further here." Arms still crossed, Annie held up one finger impatiently. "How is this flat fee, which appears across all FOUR common rooms, unfair? Did we not pay for those beds for you? Did we not provide bedding for you? Did we not supply seating and a common area for you all to study and bond in?

"These things cost MONEY, Miss Dixon, to keep up and to purchase in the first place. Money that we as an institution no longer have. Are you children? Yes. But does that mean you should not be expected to chip in? No. Does that exclude you from shouldering a portion of the responsibility for the school that also serves as your home away from home? No. I do not think you would be addressing your parents this same way if they started charging you rent, Miss Dixon, and frankly, I do not take kindly to this line of whining. ESPECIALLY from the Head Girl who should be backing the staff who chose her as a leader, not attacking them."

Dora didn't say anything back, but she did acknowledge him and his friend with a wave. They were probably here for the same reason... maybe more noble since they were Hufflepuffs and all.

She didn't really care though, so long as they were going to help and not hinder her and Alice.

Her eyes settled on the headmistress when she arrived, but Dora didn't move from her seat or say anything since the Hufflepuff was speaking. But when Ness was doooooone, she followed up with her say without missing a beat. "It's not fair to us. I don't have any knuts on me, so even if I wanted to pay and get into my common room, I couldn't. Why do we have to pay in the first place? I get that Hogwarts is bankrupt, but why do WE the students have to pay just to get into our common room? Why every single time? Why not just once? Is there not another way so we don't have to carry all those knuts around?"

"Do we have to pay for other things as well? And can we cook our own meals cause the meal tonight was subpar, and I'd rather just cook my own meals if allowed." She'd also cook for her friends too, that kind of went without saying. "Is this how Hogwarts plans on getting it's money back? By charging students with no source of income for room and board?" She was genuinely curious as these were things she need to KNOW before she went about writing letters and planing how to make this term work under these circumstances.

There were a few more questions she had, but she saved them all and waited to see if Alice or head boy Oakey (she saw that badge) had some they wanted to ask the headmistress.

With that, which Anastasia had amazingly been to deliver without hardly raising her voice at all, the redhead whirled on the second whiner. The biggest whiner of them all. Miroslaaaava.

"Did you try paying with any other type of coin, Miss Miroslava?" And Annie had to bite her tongue then to keep from throwing some flippant insult the girl's way. Something about being mis-sorted into the oh-so-intelligent house of Ravenclaw was just itching to get out of her mouth, but the redhead held it back. For now.

"If you had actually tried to pay your entrance fee, as so many of your fellow students did, you might realize that the turnstiles automatically adjust themselves to accept any form of coin, and then allow you admittance for as many entrances as the coin is worth. For example, one galleon into the turnstile would allow to walk into your common room FOUR HUNDRED and NINETY-THREE different times."

She miiiiiiight have raised her voice a liiiiiittle bit then, but overall, the Headmistress was still proud of the patience she was exhibiting here. She let out a short snort-sigh as the questions just continued coming.

"I believe that answers the rest of your financial questions, Miss Miroslava, and as I already addressed the issue of fairness with Miss Dixon, I do not think it is necessary to respond to your childish protests of 'why me.' WHY HOGWARTS is what you should be asking, young lady, not WHY ME. At least you still HAVE a school to attend and an excellent teaching staff to learn from. We're all in this boat together. Do you think WE, the staff, like not having the basic supplies we need to teach our lessons? Do you think WE like not knowing from one week to the next whether or not we'll be PAID?!!!"

All right, all right, now the frustration was coming out some. She took a short breath. "The castle and the kitchens are open to all who feel it is necessary to supplement their nutritious, already provided meals with extra junk, should our few remaining house elves permit their entry. As for our plans to save Hogwarts---" She cut herself off and snapped a furious, extremely judgmental glare down the length of the girl's body.

"I would hardly say you have no source of income. And I will not be discussing the stability of the school's financial future with you any further, Miroslava, so have your parents --- YOUR source of income --- owl me if they insist."

Can I just live in the corridor anyway? Dora and I stayed out there last night, used the second floor bathroom when we needed it and all, slept on our trunks and stuff." And it was so uncomfortable, but she didn't have the money, and borrowing wasn't necessary when she was perfectly capable of handling things by herself.

She could handle it.

"And even if we did get in, I heard from some of my housemates that the CR's still a mess. So what's the point, anyway? Could we try the Room of Requirement, maybe?" Or did Hogwarts bankruptcy affect that, too? "And I know that Hogwarts is cutting back and we should be trying to help 'cause it's our school and all, but it's not our fault that it's broke, right? Isn't there another way to earn things back than having us pay for every little thing we do around the castle? Fundraising, maybe, or donations or something?"

The could all help with THAT. Just not paying for dormitories that were filthy anyway?

His eyebrows raised when he heard that Gryffindors and Ravenclaws who couldn't pay just slept outside and around the school. He moved his gaze over to the Headmistress who he was sure was not going to like hearing that students were out of their common rooms past curfew.

He had heard that Slytherins, or more specifically Dylan had paid for each of the snakes to get into the common room once already. He himself put out a jar saved up knuts and sickles from over the years for those who couldn't pay on their own. Oakey finally sat up himself and chimed in "I agree that it's not fair." he said bluntly. "and I also think Alice has a point as well, Why not just do another large function like the Library Auction from last year? That was a big success wasn't it?" How did all of that money just vanish? His Grandmother spent half his university savings to win him the vial of liquid luck that rested around his neck still unused.

Now he had some disagreeing to do to. "It really isn't that difficult to clean the Common Rooms." He turned back to Alice. "Just use Scourgify a lot on the dusty surfaces. The Musty smell goes right out if you open the windows as well. If you all have the same issue as ours does I mean." He was going to see Mr.Firth about getting Firewood to the Common Room. So the walk was the only large amount of work he'd have to do to help clean it up.

To him it sounded like the Lions and Eagles needed to pool their money together, and not sleep outside.

"You do NOT have my permission to be out of bounds after curfew and you may NOT abuse the Room of Pay--- Requirement by turning it into an extra dormitory!!!!!!" bellowed the Headmistress who had most definitely lost her cool. Unfair? They wanted to talk unfair? HOW WAS IT FAIR TO BE OUTNUMBERED BY WHINY BRATS IN HER OWN OFFICE SPACE??! HUH?

She inhaled through flared nostrils when the Head Boy, at least, had the sense to jump in and inform the Gryffindor that she herself was very capable of cleaning her own space. "Thank you," the redhead growled toward him, not at all sounding grateful in the moment. But really, oddly, Gunter was acting like the only one here who had a grasp of the situation. Geez.

"It's called cleaning up after yourself, first of all, and second of all," she rolled her eyes heavenward and then returned them to glaring at the four students. "Who says Hogwarts and the Board of Governors do not already HAVE plans to raise funds for the school? We are NOT having another auction, because right now I do not believe we have enough faith and support in the school to host such an event, but REST ASSURED, CHILDREN, that the responsible adults running this school are WORKING on a variety of solutions. PAYMENT CENTERS are only a portion of our plans." And they should be grateful that it wasn't something worse. Yet.

She forced herself to take another breath. Blood pressure, Anastasia, remember your blood pressure. "If you have any more questions, Miss Fischer, I'd suggest taking them up directly with your grandfather. He is on the Board of Governors, is he not?" She wasn't the ONLY PERSON involved in this giant mess.

"As for the rest of you," her eyes once again flicked around the group, "Do me a favor and go directly to your Heads of House FIRST next time, instead of coming to me with your complaints. While I of COURSE am willing to listen to constructive criticism of how I run this school," that was a bald-faced lie, "and any other ideas you MIGHT have for improving conditions, I do NOT take well to WHINERS, BRATS, and STUDENT LEADERS WHO FAIL TO LEAD."

With that rather insulting finish still ringing in the air, the furious redhead turned on her Louboutin heels and disappeared behind her stone gargoyles, most definitely not coming down again for the rest of the night. Maybe even the rest of the week. She was that upset right then.
