Having just been sorted the young first year tried to calmly, but at the same time quickly wander to the Slytherin table. It was only once she actually got there and sat down though that she realized what had seemed really grand before really wasn't... the banner frayed, plastic cutlery and other things along the same lines?

Maybe they were having issues with money... or something... or maybe it was always like this? But looking around the table other people, older people also seemed to be looking at it questioningly.

Soooo Kahlan just sat down, biting her lip as she felt awkward sitting amongst the other Slytherins feeling quite alone...
