He started to wave frenetically as he craned his neck to see them (but he failed). He saw them all saying something, but he couldn't read their lips and before long, it was stupid to keep standing at that funny angle as they weren't visible from his compartment. He fought the urge to run out to the very end of the train, and simply sat next to the window, looking out and silently sobbing to himself.
"it is easier to carry your trunk on your head, even though it is more sore" thought Sarah to herself as she made her way through to the back of the train. She never knew why she went to those cars in particular.
She then noticed a solitary figure by the window, and her heart went out for it. Sarah had a phobia of seeing lonely people and people left out so she walked up to him.
"Hey you!" she called friendly giving him a big smile. "What is your name?" she asked.
"My name is Sarah Edwards, I am a third year.. no fourth year now. I am in Gryffindor." She then berated herself for talking to much. she just got so excited when she met new people.
The boy was shaking... it was not the vibrations from the train though. The boy was crying. Sarah then removed the trunk from her head.
"Can I sit next to you?" she asked.
