Simon hadn't expected the invitation to the boss' birthday to say the least. Sure he was a member of the department and Izzy was his former leader as head of the aurors but not everyone liked employees at their birthday party. Especially not employees that were around half ones age. Granted at 22 he wasn't the youngest by at least 4 years but still. But the former Gryffindor would attend no matter, picking up a small simple gift and wrapped it before arriving at Floreans.

Making his way to the room he had been told was set aside for the party, he was glad to see the surprise was still in place and Wes wasn't there yet. The young man having momentarily thought he was running late. He stepped inside and took a look at his surroundings and those already there...most of which MLErs...and former MLErs. Including one young YATI there as well.

"Hello Kennedy," he said with a smile, greeting the younger man. Best to support those who were likely as nervous as he would be under the circumstances. There would be time for everyone else.
