Honestly, the invitation had taken her completely by surprise. I mean, she wasn't even a part of Wes' department anymore, so why would she expect a invite? She had thought about not showing up, especially considering who else would definitely be there, but curiosity over his reaction to the surprise had won out. So, she had tried to find a dress that would hide her ever expanding belly (after all, didn't want the shocker that she was pregnant to overshadow the birthday boy's party), found an appropriate gift, and headed down to Florean's.

Stopping in the doorway of the celebration room, Roxanne took a quick scan of the room (you could take the woman out of the MLE, but you couldn't take the MLE out of the woman). Seeing that the only other people here were the ones she was least excited about seeing, she took a deep breath and ran a hand over her rounded tummy, steeling herself before slapping a bright ~~and fake~~ smile on her face and entering the room. "Wow, everything looks great!" And that wasn't a false compliment, either. Everything really did look great. Better than great, actually.
