Still another year before he really had to decide, though he figured after summer he really should be thinking seriously.. but after a bit of fun first.
He nodded as the Captain continued. "Ah.. that's nice that you can work for your dad." His own worked for the French Ministry so it wasn't like he could join the family business while he figured things out. "That's a good attitude to have," he grinned. More people could stand to be as flexible. "Good luck to you.."
Milton shrugged a bit. "Yeah, you still got time. But I'd say quidditch is a good option for you." Loooook, Milton was being helpful! That didn't happen very often. "Yeah, it is helpful. I guess I got lucky there." And his dad even said the pub could be his one day if he wanted and proved himself... worthy. "Thanks mate, you too." Text Cut: Lex and Lottie Quote:

Uh-huh and Lottie directly brought up the plant. It was one of there strongest points in this arguments you know. It took everything in her to not sigh at the memory. Bloody plant took it's time. What ever happened to not playing with your food? But that wasn't the point now was it? No. The point was that they all saved him and that if they'd all decided to sit around one large fireplace and drink hot chocolate while he was screaming down in the greenhouse then he wouldn't be here now. People in the big world preferred hot chocolate to daring feats of blatant stupidity for people they don't like. Think about that.
She kept her expression nice and pleasant as he took a moment to organize his thoughts. It was a lot, but it was important and needed to be said. Once he started talking they'd know if he understood.
...
Lex beamed at him. Heh, he'd noticed the oh so subtle insults. Good on him. She could almost pat him on the back for it...but she didn't because of the next thing he said. Blink. Blink. MERLIN!
She took a step forward, closing the distance between them both then tapped his head a few times with her knuckles and her own head leaned in close enough to listen. After a few taps she looked to Lottie. "It sounds hollow. There couldn't have been much blocking the information from getting in; how in Merlin's beard did he misunderstand everything we just said." This was serious Lottie! He was even worse than they thought!! Don't graduate Milton, you'll never survive!! ![Whaa?](images/smilies/whaa_smilie.png) Quote:

Also, "That's the nicest thing you've ever said," because she took the idiot part as a compliment. It wasn't easy to select synonyms for such an obvious word, or to say things as delicately as possible while having a very civil conversation.
So, yes, thank you. A hair flip would've happened if she didn't feel his compliment will lead them nowhere. He was still considered dumb.
AND NO. Ughhhh. He was impossible! He was gonna get run over by the train, you'll see! So, yes, she did roll her eyes at his last comment (even if maybe she did like him a liiittle bit, maybe, we're not sure). Eyes on Lex now. "Do you reckon whatever was left of his ability to understand us actually left with his hair?" Lottie was only, very seriously, discussing this matter with Lex, right in front of Milton. Like he would understand them, right? HAHA.
But back to Milton, "You do know us, though, which is why you know we're not even joking about this." The smile was gone. Maybe smiling too much made him believe that. "You'll keep Oakey company, when he stays after next term, too." Oakey. Sigh. Now, THAT was a Hufflepuff she wanted to keep, because he made smoothies. Next thing he knew, Milton was being knocked on the head with Alexa's bony little knuckles. "Oi, oi! he started, swatting at her hand. "Knock it off, my head is very sensitive." Didn't want to send him to the hospital wing on the last day, DIDJ'YA? Then he surely wouldn't stay here forever. "Alright, alright, fine, this isn't a joke... However... You DO realize, this is a completely ridiculous plan, right?" He LOOKED at them. "Oakey is maniac. I'm not staying behind with some kid who got himself stuck in a sink." Seriously, how did somebody manage to do that? Text Cut: Mo Quote:

"I am, actually. My sister says she's going to whip me into shape to be the best Beater Ravenclaw has ever seen. And I suppose..." He shuffled around a bit before making an even more (somehow) somber expression. "I suppose I'll miss you and stuff. You were a good captain. Thanks for putting me on the team. Sorry I threatened to hit you."
Wow, this kid was good at the dramatics. He looked like a lost, abandoned puppy and Milton almost wanted to pat his head and give him a dog treat... but that would be weird. "Hey, that's not a bad idea. You're a good beater anyway. You might be the best next term." Plus, getting help from Vivi (he was assuming), would definitely help.
A smile lit up Milton's face. "Thanks, kid. It was fun having you on the team." Wait. He threatened to hit him? Must have been one of those many things he couldn't remember. "Err, no worries." He clapped the kid on the shoulder with a grin. He doubted a little MoBranx hit could hurt him. Especially since he was used to bludgers to the head. Quote:

That's right, Milton was not getting out of the Gryffindor's grip. And she was not sorry about this.
She sniffled softly for several seconds. Try as she might, she was unable to string together any words to document her current feelings. But she should at least try, right? It was weird for her to just... cling to him, right?
Maybe?
Oh. And he was talking. She choked out a small laugh. "Butyouareleaving. AndI'mgoingtomissyou" And as soon as Milton set Anya down, she clambered right back up to his lap. He let out a sift chuckle and held onto her as she sniffled. It was rather cute. "Yes, I am. But we have all summer to spend time together. And we can owl each other while you're back in school." See? He wasn't vanishing or anything. They could still be best friends. Quote:

Uh huh. He so should. Milton grinned at Beezus and and chuckled when she punched him in the arm. He rubbed it and nudged her arm with his elbow. "Yeaaahh, yeah, I will miss you too... Maybe." Heh heh. |
