If he was any good with any of the fine arts, it would have to be music, but he never really did much drawing these days. Still, he knew an artist when he saw one, and the way Gwen sketched out her drawing so intricately before even getting started on the details was more than enough evidence of her prowess with the quill.
"Oh yeah, I can see it.." He said, switching between looking over the courtyard in front of them and then back at the sketchbook. "I'm Patrick." He looked over to Gwen quickly, realizing just how rude he had been in not introducing himself. "It's nice to meet you, Gwen." He smiled, remembering to say her name to commit it to memory, just like his mama taught him. No more impoliteness here. No sirree.
‘Do you draw too?’, she asked randomly, not minding to look back at the other student. She was staring at the drawing, which still looked like a mess. Ehh- add a few more lines here, a few more lines there...
Hmm. Patrick. The Ravvie made a mental note of the name. Gwen was generally a disaster at remembering people’s names, but se would try to remember this one.
‘Nice to meet you too’, the sixth year said with a small smirk, raising her eyes from the sketchbook.
‘Umm... you are a Ravenclaw, right?’, she eventually asked. Well, she could be wrong, but she thought she had seen him around the Common Room. Anyway.
Gwendolyn drew her attention to the sketchbook, and continued to draw some more lines, which finally started looking like the columns in front of her. Before finishing the right part of the sketch, the girl started working on the rest of the drawing. Just to make sure that the measurements were right, Gwen glimpsed at the fountain, and then back at her drawing. Mhm.
Looks fine, she thought and drew a few more lines.
. . .
After a while, the drawing was complete.
‘Done’, the sixth year said, more like to herself and then examined once again the sketch. Hmm. Gwen usually thought that her sketches had to be improved, but despite that it wasn’t perfect, she liked this one.
Smirk.
