Despite an early morning set-up of the celebration tent and its contents, Professor James looked as bright and cheerful as ever. Standing in the center of the pitch, she drew her gaze up to the mostly cloudy sky above, the sun shining through every once in awhile as the clouds traveled with the wind. A cool breeze drifted across the pitch, making the warm temperatures signaling the coming of summer much more tolerable.
Not wanting to waste any time - though she did locate her son in the stands and gave him a short, enthusiastic wave before bringing her wand to her neck, Professor James spoke, "Good day, students, staff, alumni, and Quidditch fanatics alike! Welcome to our final match of the season - Hufflepuff versus Ravenclaw! As the points currently stand, the Cup could go just about any way right now - this is a big game for both teams playing and not." Captain Obvious, perhaps, but it was EXCITING, wasn't it?! ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN.
"...Anything can happen! Without further ado, let's hear it for the teams!" The two gates at the ends of the pitch flew open and streaks of navy blue and canary yellow took to the skies of the pitch; in the mean time, James happily reviewed the two rosters. Interesting - Shacklebolt was missing, and... Miss Dixon was playing, but had elected for a younger student to take her place in the leadership role? Very curious. James peered up at the true Hufflepuff Captain in the sky, wondering her motives, but approved the roster nonetheless. Surely it would be okay.
After taking their warm-up time, James rounded up the troops with a short TWEET! of her whistle. Once the teams had taken their positions, the Quidditch Official released the bludgers, shortly followed by the Golden Snitch. She cleared her throat purposefully and spoke to the teams, "I don't think either of you need me to say more than: go out there and have fun. Be good. Make us all proud." With a knowing, gentle smile directed at a few individual faces, James told them, "On my whistle. Three... two... one... TWEET!"
