Alyssa had been wondering about how one would communicate with a merperson, mainly whether they had to be underwater in order to understand what the merpeople were saying but someone else asked that question.

So she decided to ask another question maybe not so much related to the actual speaking, but something she thought was just as equally important, having been on a trip to Atlantis with Professor Scabior two terms ago. So she raised her hand.

"Sir when talking with a merperson, are there certain formalities one must be observe? Do we have wait for them to address us before we speak with them? Can we just speak with anybody or do we have to speak with their Chieftain or Chieftainess first?"
