West had been 'harvesting' from the swamp for weeks now, only not for his Herbology stuff, but for ... other reasons. But what it meant was that he knew that he'd find some good insects here for his biome, he just had to be careful not to fall in, that would suck. He was careful to get under the ropes but not to actually go IN the swamp. From the edge he waited....

...... patience was key.

Patience and observation.

There! Praying mantis. He carefully caught it up in a jar he'd brought and waited for another. It'd be mean to just have one. And he'd need some bugs for them to eat, flies and mosquitos and stuff... which were totally annoying him already, so he decided why not practice some spell work and catch some at the same time? That's right. He extracted his wand and sat stillllll.....

and then began using immobulus to stop mosquitoes and flies, managing maybe every third attempt. It'd wear off eventually too, but for now it made it pretty easy to scoop them into one of the other little jars he'd brought for temporary transport.

Three praying mantises, nine mosquitos, and eleven flies later, with them all in their own jars, West was done. He packed up his things, carefully stowing the jars in his bag, and then carefully crawled back under the ropes. Now to go find a few other bugs or whatever from outside, and then he'd be all creatured up. A frog would be good, right? He went down the corridor, not in any hurry, and soon disappeared from sight.
