Was she wise or what? She should just go ahead and try to be an Ambassador, she didn't need college. Heh heh. "No candy store. That bonbon is my promise payment." Like, you don't just say 'no' to Louisa's clever solutions. "And don't give me looks, love, I'm doing this because I care."
Louisa rolled her eyes and tried not to grin, it was awfully hard not to be amused by the way Vivi jumped to defend her little brother. It was cute. "Whatever you say." Her gaze went back to the menu. This shouldn't be a tough choice, she ordered the exact same thing every time she dropped by. Funny, she never thought she'd be here with those particular girls. "What she said." Louisa said from behind the paper before setting it down and addressed Vivi, "How's your YATI program, by the way? Congratulations on getting in. I didn't get the chance to.. uhh.. send an owl." It felt.. SO weird to have her previous friendly feelings for Vivi start to surface now. It was probably the old memory, seeing that the future plans they talked about in their dorm were no longer... future. It felt familiar and good and.. weird.
Lex and candy. Right. Back to this. "No chocolate chip cookies. It's still candy. We'll get whole-wheat cookies. Is it legal for you to have butterbeer?" Or orange juice? Shouldn't she just drink milk to build her bones? Quote:

I'm too adorable to be hated." The shallowness of that statement didn't even register to her. It was meant in all seriousness.
Her mouth nearly fell open in utter dismay and horror and just everything else that meant she wasn't happy. "It can't be your promise because you said you'd take me to the candy store and buy me whatever I wanted. I don't want a bon bon I want a box--or truck load really--of chocolate frogs that I can hide under my bed and be happy with for the rest of my life." So yeah, the girl was getting MORE looks. This was NOT how you cared for a baby lion. Didn't she read the manual? She was the only one allowed to not read, everyone else needed to pick up on their slack and learn to take better care of her. That wasn't a dependent behaviour at all, nope.
To Vivi's statement she shrugged a bit. No talking about Mo like that. Right. Got it.
OH YEAH!! That thing!! So nice of Louisa to ask. Her plan was working better than she thought it would. They'd be hugging by the time they were ready to leave!! GRIN. "Yeah, tell us all about your YATI training thing to fight monsters and bag guys! We BOTH wanna know." Too much?
Lex furrowed her brows a bit at the next question. "I didn't do anything, honest. I mean...I might have spent all the galleons Daddy gave me before the start of the Christmas break but I was having a candy emergency and it couldn't be helped! And the Healer was just being mean 'cause I took your advice to have my teeth impervious-ed and asked her. Not only did she say no but she TOLD Daddy then he figured I spent all my money and that I asked my grandparents for more and now he thinks I've had enough and shouldn't have anymore but you can never have too much candy." Fact.
Slowly her gaze shifted to Louisa. "That joke was even less funny than the one with the bon bon. I don't WANT nasty whole-wheat stuff. I want SUGAR. Stop being mean about it, will ya?" As for the legal stuff. "Do I look like I work in Magical Law Enforcement? How the heck should I know?" Did Louisa need a hug? She was acting sick again. Vivi was not about to insert herself into this discussion (read: fight) about candy. She hadn't made any promises she couldn't keep, and she'd been providing candy to Lex all term. As for the rest, she was just going to keep her head down as she gestured for three butterbeers to be delivered to the table.
The interesting reaction wasn't Lex's insane protestation that she needed candy like other people needed air; the interesting one was that Louisa seemed to take Vivi's prickly response to insults leveled at Mo so well. Was it possible that being snapped at had actually softened Louisa up toward her? "I only just started at the Ministry, actually, but it's going well so far. I have to figure out all these new rules for behavior and expectations while trying not to get on the wrong side of anyone, but it's all very interesting at the moment." In other words, she was likely to tick someone off unintentionally and no one was letting her do anything fun yet.
"If we're going to order food here, how about we all order something well balanced, and then we can share a dessert?" That way, they could model healthy eating choices for Lex without being the bad guys.
