Still embarrassed by his singing, Jake had his head down as he watched his star. He didn't look up to see if anyone had heard him. He wasn't sure he wanted to know. It was sort of a force of habit - his little sisters used to fall asleep if he sang to them. And... maybe stars worked the same way? It made sense. You know, despite the obvious differences between jar!stars and little girls...

He kept his eyes on the star, worried about what would happen if he took his eyes off of it again. But... it didn't do much. It just kinda glowed. And Jake got bored easily. So he started slipping into sleep again...

...It was bad to sleep in a science lab, though. So he shook his head, waking himself up. He'd just... be done for the day. Come back tomorrow. He stared at the star for a moment, trying to decide what to do with it. Then, getting an idea, he took off his cloak and, very carefully, wrapped it around his star. There. Now it wouldn't get cold while he was away.

Before he left, he scribbled on the lable.
