He shook his head at whatever she was babbling about already and pointed specifically to the chair she was supposed to be sitting in. "No, you're here because you requested a promotion. You were the one who initiated contact," in wanting to see him, was she not? "I generally don't handle promotions via owl." So that was his sole reason in wanting to see her, he supposed.

He smiled pleasantly and ruffled through a few papers on his desk. "How long have you been working for us now, Potter?"
