Post Video: James & Oliver Phelps talk Harry Potter theme parks, NYC exhibition

James and Oliver Phelps helped promote the second New York City leg of Harry Potter: the Exhibition this weekend at Discovery Times Square, where they met and greeted fans at the venue throughout the afternoons of February 16, 17, and 19th. SnitchSeeker was on hand at the tour this Tuesday, and got the chance to talk to the twins about the tour, the Harry Potter theme parks, and what future projects they'd like to venture into.

SnitchSeeker: For all the people who can’t go to the studio tour in London, what’s the advantage of coming to the Exhibition?
James Phelps:
It’s right on their doorstep. It’s a cool thing to check out.

What’s your favorite part?
Oliver Phelps:
To me it’s got to be the Quidditch.

SnitchSeeker: There are rumors about the expansion down in Florida being Diagon Alley and perhaps one of the stores might be the Weasleys’ shop. What do you think of that?
Oliver:
That would be cool if it did. It would be a huge thing if it’s anything to scale in the films. That would be wicked.

SnitchSeeker: Would you be there?
James:
Dunno, if we’re invited, maybe.

SnitchSeeker: What do you guys have lined up for the future?
James:
I just finished a show in London, so hopefully I’ll be doing something on stage very soon.

SnitchSeeker: I heard you were singing on stage, is that true?
James:
I was singing on stage.

SnitchSeeker: So would you do a musical tour then perhaps?
James:
Maybe. I don’t know. That’s an idea.

SnitchSeeker: Maybe perhaps on Broadway?
James:
That’d be cool. That’d be a great achievement.

SnitchSeeker: What about you?
Oliver:
Just doing a few things. Going to a lot of trouble writing my website. I’ve been in New York. It’s been very good for that. Yeah, enjoying life.

SnitchSeeker: How do you think the theme parks expanding to not just Orlando, but Los Angeles and Japan will help expand the Harry Potter franchise?
Oliver:
I think it’s good because it makes it just as accessible. Especially the one in Osaka because there’s obviously a big market out there in Asia. We were out there for the unveiling and it went really well. It should be really, really cool.

If anyone else attended Harry Potter: the Exhibition this weekend and met the twins, do feel free to leave photos (not too big of course), in the comments!
