She had noticed the cringe. In fact, that had caused Kendall’s wand hand to slip a little, altering the curve of the jet of water, and she had cringed as well, hurriedly trying to re-adjust so she didn’t completely miss the cubicle and Oichi’s umbrella, which was patiently waiting to be tested. Actually, it was only the tension of the handle of the umbrella on her arm that brought her focus back, and soon enough the water was dropping onto the umbrella instead of the floor, which had been in danger of getting drenched seconds earlier. She let the charm continue for several more moments, too, just to make sure. Maybe any holes would take some time to start leaking after all, and she didn’t think the ten minutes were up yet. Either way, she’d figure out how to test her own umbrellas one way or another, but it would be easier if the time in the lesson didn’t run out.

Easier, but not happening. She cut the charm off when she’d heard Professor Magnus announce that time had run out. Of course, she had still left time open for finishing up their testing, but Kendall knew there was no way she was going to be able to test both umbrellas and be able to ask the professor if there was a way she could rescue her limp one before she’d have to literally run to make it to her next class. She’d just have to trust that she’d been successful, or find a way to test them later on. Maybe the professor could help her with that too, but her train of thought was interrupted as the Gryffindor had stepped over to join her. “Okay good. I was worried for a minute there that I was going to miss your umbrella entirely,” she said, turning to the girl with a shrug. “Looks like class already ended, so probably not. I think I checked mine for holes pretty good, so I’ll just trust that the spell worked. I have a couple questions to ask Professor Magnus before next class anyway,” she continued, giving her a smile. It wasn’t her fault they’d gotten started late with their testing. Plus, she didn’t have to worry about drying off.
