Post Daniel Radcliffe to attend, star in special segment at 85th annual Academy Awards

Daniel Radcliffe will be making his first appearance at the Academy Awards later this month, USA Today confirmed on Wednesday, where he will star in a special segment the evening of Sunday, February 24, the night of the live telecast.

The producers of this year's Oscars are a pair very familiar to Dan: Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will produce the telecast, and were also head of the 2011 production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, in which the Harry Potter actor starred. Zadan noted that Dan may take part in a "music in movies'' theme during the ceremony, hosted by comedian Seth Macfarlane.

Quote:
"We were bewildered," says Zadan. "How can you have the biggest franchise in motion-picture history, Harry Potter, and yet no one has ever been on the Oscars? (It) was strange to us.''

"We want people to guess what are they going to be doing. We're just not saying," he says. "But it will be a substantial bite. It's a big deal."
