Nigel should have known his choice of words were going to bring up more questions but it was too late now. Charles was asking about what might be thought to happen should Elinor and his step-family should ever meet. Something the potions master would do much to keep from happening. "A little bit of both, to be honest," he answered after some thought on the issue.

"I wouldn't doubt Elinor would hold her own." She had after all fought for his attention and was currently standing up to her own mother for them. "I would simply prefer she not be put through the trouble. They're not worth it."
