Hogwarts RPG Name: Eliza Neladara Dawnsel Fifth Year | SPOILER!!: Catching up So he was a Gryffindor then? Interesting...maybe that explains the suit. Showy? No matter, it looks nice, the Ravenclaw mused inside her head as she so often did. Ah, but he sings too? How fun! She did like a professor who wasn't too serious and she did like music.
She raised her hand and waited her turn to sing. Am I really going to sing it? She listened to others who had been brave enough to give it a try, so she decided she would pluck up and try as well. Here we go... she thought as she prepared herself to sing a couple of lines in her soft voice. "Professor, my name is Eliza Dawnsel and this is a part of a song called To The Moon And Back by a muggle band called Savage Garden." She fidgeted a bit before going on to say, "And um, well it goes like this... 'So baby's gonna take a dive and
Push the shift to overdrive
Send a signal that she's hanging
All her hopes on the stars
What a pleasant dream
She's sayin,
"I would fly to the moon and back if you'll be,
if you'll be my baby.
I've got a ticket for a world where we belong
So would you be my baby?'"
She blushed and turned her head down quickly once she was finished, then remembered to mention how it related to astronomy at the last moment. "And it relates to astronomy, well because they mention the stars and the moon. Sort of hoping and wishing on them like someone else said. As if they think life will be better out there in space, in another world." She nodded her head to show she was done and then continued to listen to the lesson.
She listened carefully to Professor Airey's responses to her classmates' songs. Some of them were pretty good singers in her opinion! When he said to the one song that stars were dead, just like our dreams - Eliza could hardly hold back her snicker. A new professor who sings and is funny too? This is great! She was going to like this class even more than she had last year. Poor Professor Burbage though... She hoped nothing horrible would happen this year as well. Quote:

Awesome points to them all! "However, none of managed to mention the song that inspired this lesson." Shame really. There had been house points up as a reward for anyone that did."Are any of you familiar with the song Catch a Falling Star performed by Perry Como?" With a quick tap of his wand on the projector, lyrics written in bold white text appeared on the domed ceiling over the night sky for students to read. "As you may have been able to infer from all this, the theme of this term is stars and today we will be focusing on something rather special. A star that isn't really a star but has been mislabeled as one by humans. Often called shooting stars or falling stars like in the song, there is a proper name for this phenomena. Can anyone tell me what that is?" Ah falling stars. They are so pretty aren't they? But as to the proper term for them, Eliza did not know much of it. She raised her hand to try a guess none the less. "Are they called comets or meteors? Or is it meteorites?" She furrowed her brows and twisted her mouth in doubt of her answer. |
